Dr Angelis is compassionate and wonderful! She did an AMAZING job replacing 2 ruptured discs in my neck in August of 2025. The pain in my neck is gone. The functioning has returned in my wrists and thumbs as a direct result of the surgery, which safely and successfully alleviated the nerve impingement in my shoulder and right arm/wrist/hand. i am so grateful for Dr Angelis and i HIGHLY recommend anyone with any spinal/neck problem to see her. So much relief after lumbar fusion. Suffered for years. Can't say enough about Dr. Angeles. Everyone in our area seems to know someone she has helped. I think more people need to research the doctors and get reviews instead on so many opinions. Its the competence of the surgeon that gets the results.

Aloha, I had ACDF surgery in 1998 and 2019. Ican swim walk play golf and do yard work. Surgeries by other Doctors. MY lower back went south, pain down left leg, could not do normal life things. Angeles did lower back fusion onL4,L3 and clean out L4,L5 ALDF on April 15th, my quality of life is better, doing my exercises, swimming, yard work, swing golf clubs. I just can't Angeles at Keiper Spine Eugen Oregon for my quality just three months later. Still have 6 months to go, but back just keep on improving. I had a herniated disc between C6 and C7, which brought excrutiating nerve pain in my left arm. I couldn't stand or sit long due to the pain. Laying down helped a little, but I was in bed 23 hours a day, and didn't know what would happen if this pain didn't go away. After an MRI and visit with Dr. Angeles, she got me right in within a week and performed surgery to replace the disc. Upon awaking up from surgery, all the pain in my arm was gone. She saved me. Like I said, I'm not sure how much longer I could have gone on with that pain. As it turned out, my disc was broken in a few places. My checkups were great and the surgery was a total success. Dr. Angeles is very professional and I would HIGHLY recommend her.

After reading every review I could find on Dr. Carmina Angeles, I thought it would have been useful to know a little about the writers of those reviews, their physical and mental condition as well as what they thought of Dr. Angeles . So here goes. I am an 84 year old retired man in reasonably good health in spite of: being a prostate cancer survivor (removed 12 years ago); surviving ankle reconstruction surgery, a reverse shoulder replacement, and a knee replacement (1 year ago). My education includes a PhD and my employment history was in leadership/management where I was responsible for over 2,000 employees. Following the knee replacement I began experiencing severe pain in the low back, thighs, buttocks, and lower legs which became so extreme that I couldn't get out of bed without assistance. I was referred to physical therapy where a very able therapist sensed I had a stenosis problem and recommended to my care provider that I should have an MRI. Thinking ahead, I asked… the therapist to name some outstanding neurosurgeons which resulted in getting Dr. Carmina Angeles' name and phone number. Prior to the MRI my wife phoned Dr. Angeles' office and they immediately started a chart making me a new patient. The MRI revealed L4L5 left lateral disc extrusion with left neural foraminal stenosis. Of all my previous health concerns, this was by far the most painful. We requested a copy of the referral from my provider and faxed that along with the MRI report to Dr. Angeles's office. TEN MINUTES LATER WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM DR. ANGELES' OFFICE SETTING UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER THE FOLLOWING WEEK! Dr. Angeles was scheduled for surgery at McKenzie-Willamette a few days later and said she could operate then if late in the day was okay with me. YOU BET!! Dr. Angeles is the ultimate professional. She clearly explained why I was in so much pain and felt the best alternative was a lumbar discectomy and fusion which would hopefully avoid my having to have further surgery in a year or two. I am quite certain she tested my willingness/desire to fight through the pain to recover (recovery isn't just up to the surgeon) by the questions she asked at which point I made clear that I wanted her surgery and was willing to work to recover. She is articulate, caring, well educated and highly competent. McKenzie-Willamette Hospital was professional and the best I"ve experienced. Three months of work with PT following surgery, I am pain free. Why wouldn't I recommend Dr. Carmina Angeles? She is terrific!

This neurosurgeon gave me my life back, basically. L-3- to L-5 decompression with spinal fusion using my own bone marrow. I had severe spinal stenosis, both inside along my spinal canal and on the outside of my vertebrae, impinging on my nerves. It was a lot of digging, chipping, and putting in of hardware. I have healed beautifully, with no complications, and after a rough first month of recovery, (which I was warned about), I am now out of pain. Three months post surgery and I am walking, lifting, sleeping, basically living life with a few limits on twisting and running for 9 more months. But most important, I am pain free, med free. I can't recommend this doctor more highly. I found her to be kind, funny, and attentive. She visited me during my hospital stay, her staff checked on me via phone during my home recovery, and she sent a very nice thank card for choosing her as a surgeon. Outcomes are different for everyone, but I am very grateful and glad I made this decision,… very glad I chose this doctor.

Before surgery my days were spent in pain management. I would have about 2 hours a day when I could do what I wanted before the pain was too great and I had to stop and do something else. I heard sleeping as I would stay in one position too long and wake up in severe pain. After surgery: I woke up from surgery and the pain was gone. Yes, I had surgical site pain, but it was much less. Unlike toehold pain that kept increasing, the surgical pain slowly went away. Now I am 3 months post-surgery and pain free. I have energy, hope and freedom.

Dr. Angeles lacks In the empathy department. I always leave her office bewildered. My L4-5 cyst removal (2) was obviously unsuccessful. I’m in more pain than prior to the surgery and the cysts are coming back. No explanation, just, darn, they’re back. Onto a pain management person, but they aren’t accepting new patients. So I’m in doctor limbo. Thanks for nothing Doc. BTW, the one bright spot in this practice is the assistant, Jenai.

Has an abject superiority problem. Would not advise patronizing her. And this only from a consultation visit, which was totally frustrating.

I received a phone call from Carmina that she done several successful operations on people of the same kind I need. I told her AI had the worst pain I have ever had from shoulder to shoulder. It felt like I was in a vise and someon was tighting the vise down. I really was appreciative of the phone call. Anyways as soon as she opearated the pain went away and I was back to normal. Thank you so much for the operation. If anyone needs an operation I recommend Dr. Carmina Angeles.
