My eldest son had meningioma surgery with Dr. Coon and I found her to be efficient and amicable. I discovered that she interned under my surgeon Dr. William T. Couldwell. After mentioning her to Dr. Couldwell he could't say enough good things about her. More on Dr. Couldwell... William T. Couldwell, MD, PhD serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Utah. He has served as Director of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and Secretary for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is currently President-Elect of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Couldwell has over 300 peer-reviewed publications and has been the recipient of several federal and other research grants. Dr. Couldwell is recognized internationally for his expertise in skull base surgery and is regularly solicited as a speaker and to instruct courses in skull base surgery. His clinical interests include surgical management of skull base tumors,… neuro-oncology, pituitary tumors, and cerebrovascular neurosurgery.

Although she has moved on to a different workplace I must say she was the rudest person ever!

Dr. Valerie Coon changed my life for the better. I had a prior back surgery for a herniated disc in my lumbar area that went horribly wrong. I saw 3 other meurosu's all of which said they could not help me. I was using a walker to get around in the house and a wherefore any kind of distance. Dr. Coon did 2 more surgeries on my lumbar sacral area. The second surgery she did took 10 1/2 hours, however, I no longer have to use a wheelchair anymore and rarely need to use my walker. I had no quality of life anymore and now I can play with my grandkids and have a life!! I went from home bound to being able to do some things. She saved my life!!! Thank you Dr. Coon. You will forever be in my prayers.
