Dr. Carol Lynn Childers, MD

She was very condescending and treated me like a child, though I am an adult and am self-referred. She constantly interrupted me and did not allow me to finish my sentences, assuming she knew the answers already. She compromised my sense of agency and autonomy by suggesting she knew my limits better than I know them. Overall, a very discouraging encounter.

Dr. Childers might be a good fit for someone who doesn't mind seeing a psychiatrist who demonstrates no empathy, warmth, patience, or interest in her patients. Unfortunately, I require a bit more humanity from a psychiatrist. Avoid!!!!

Dr. Childers answered her phone while with me in a session. She did not apologize or excuse herself. Her phone call was not an emergency either. I felt disrespected and like my time wasn't important to her. I would NOT recommend her to anyone. She also spoke to me like a robot and did not show compassion, empathy, or unconditional positive regard. I hope no one else goes through this experience with a psychiatrist.

Dr Carol Childers is the most thorough diagnostician and the best overall Psychiatrist I have had the pleasure to have been treated by. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Excellent and astute.

Very disappointed. As a guardian she seemed more than happy to speak to me when things were going well but, when her patient did not do well she seemed to avoid my calls and faxes. She should be reported to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. I should have known when I googled her.

She kick me out of the clinic by my second visit, did not took time to explain why.
