Dr. Carol Sumi Murakami, MD

Was very patronizing and dismissive. Accused me of self diagnosing a disorder I already had when I asked simple questions about treatment and symptoms I had. Will definitely not work with her in the future. Also dismissed previous work done by other GIs and doctors. I'm not sure what her issue is with others or why she thinks it's okay to laugh at patients.

PLEASE see someone else for your own sake if you get referred to her. She came in agitated, with no concern about the patient. She was rude and brushed me off when I mentioned the pain and how I was trying to cope. She laughed at my concerns. People don't come to the hospital to see a doctor for fun. She asked me a few questions and told me she will order an endoscopy but never followed through. It's been 14 months and nothing since 2022. This month July 2023, Kaiser calls it's an appointment. A phone consultation with her on the phone. But why??? She needs to do her job right as a doctor. If she is forgetful, maybe it's time for her to hang up her white coat cause she is making the hospital look bad.

Needs more lessons on the word "respect "

I was her patient for colonoscopy. When she came to the room, she said I have history of neuropathy, my husband and I looked at each other and said huh? because I was very sure I had no such condition. Then she apologized because she was looking at somebody else's record. I guess it was too late for me to change my mind since I did all the prep and was already had my ivy and all. Then after my procedure she briefly told me that everything was ok and to come back in 10 years. My husband and I barely saw her. I thought that was find since everything went well. BUT after a week, I got an email from her telling me that she found a samll polyps and the it was the precancerrous type and forgot to put it in the report! Duh? Sorry for the confusion. How incompetent! She doesn't even care. I will never go back to her!

I have been a patient of hers for over 10 years at various clinics. She is capable, but stiicks to a general diagnosis without exploring other options of treatment. Also, last colonoscop y I awoke in the middle of procedure while turning me. She said she couldn't complete as device would not extend further. I had to have a virtual colonoscopy to fcomplete the procedure. She had no problems previously. That was unpleasant and I won't be returningreturning to her.

Dr. Carol Murakami performed both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy on me last year. It was my first time having these procedures. She was very thorough in her exams, diagnosis and follow-up. Both procedures were a breeze and I awoke from sedation with no pain, discomfort or memory of the procedure. Dr. Murakami's diagnosis was very accurate. She showed me pictures and explained her findings. She recommended I take Prevacid. I had some redness in my esophagus and gastric pain from elevated pancreatic and liver enzymes due to too much alcohol consumption. I Stopped drinking wine and all of my symptoms disappeared. She had me come in to her office to re-test my enzymes and they were normal. Many thanks to Dr. Murakami. She's very professional.

Very poor bedside manners. Doesn't seem to care at all for the patient. She never called me with CT scan results. She needs a lesson in humanity.

Dr. Carol Murakami was unfriendly with bad bedside manners, but that was not the only problem I had with her. She made a rude mocking remark about my notes. And most importantly, she did not address my problems with any investigative measures. Dr. Murakami just prescribed an over the counter med and said see me in two weeks. I would have wanted testing done to help me know why I am in pain for a long time. So, I left her office and went to urgent care, the dr at the urgent care examined my stomach attentively, ordered an x-ray,did blood work to see if I had Hpylory, and finally he recommended I go to a specialist to further investigate colon issues.What a waste of my time that appointment with Dr. Murakami was, and what a big disatisfaction.
