Dr. Carol Anne Rupe, MD

Dr. Rupe is so compassionate and knowledgeable. She takes time to talk to me and explains things in a way that I can understand. She offers the best treatment plan for me and makes sure that I’m ok with it. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Rupe is one of the best doctors in NC. As a former RN, I was looking for a doctor who actually took time to listen to her patients. Someone who was actually interested in their well being. She strives to keep costs low, keep you from needing a specialist and from needing to go to the ER. I expected maybe 20 minute visits but get an hour! She has demonstrated her knowledge and compassion to our family. I drive 45 minutes to have her as my physician and it is well worth it. If you are tired of doctors who rush you out the door like an assembly line and don't really hear you, she's the doctor for you!

Dr. Rupe is always on call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She always has a great professional attitude and is a pleasure to work with. Never have I had a problem getting an appointment or prescription refill. She listens and gives each patient all the time they need to discuss any medical issue they have. You don't find Doctors like Carol Rupe anymore!!

I was a patient of Dr. Rupe when she was still in Charlotte. I have missed her terribly and have yet to find another doctor like her. She has a great depth of knowledge about many health concerns. More importantly, she is a PARTNER with her patients -never a bully. I now live 4 hours from this practice -and even so, I am considering what it would be like to have her as my physician again. It would be worth the drive for sure. Dr. Rupe, I miss you and I am so glad you are doing well!

Best doctor I ever had!!! Oh how I do miss her.

I have noticed many changes the last two years. The front office staff is very rude. You can walk in and not see anyone at the desk. You have to say hello to get someone to check you in. Calling is impossible. They did have two windows and now put a door at the other window to block people. I think they are putting barricades between the patient and staff. This makes healthcare ridiculous. Sadly not all offices are like this. 3 years ago, service seemed a lot better. A change in office staff and becoming more empathetic and personable would be a start. Seems a NP is in the wrong field. If they are supposed to assist with the patients, they need to make you look good and they are not. I notice that they are afraid they may do more work than another employee. The bathrooms are not properly stocked, it is like walking in a free clinic except there are no patients. Sorry to say all this, but really hope things go back to the way they once were.

After 5 years of trying to be a patient at this practice, I am finally switching back to my old practice. So tired of waiting for an appointment/call back and only seen by a NP. I rarely see Dr. Rupe. Annual exams are the only time I go and for rare sick visits, it is hard to get in. The phone never gets picked up. I feel they are more of a beauty shop lately with all the botox/skin treatments etc and not enough of a doctor's office.

For a year and a half I have not been able to get a sick appointment nor a follow up after a visit to urgent care. Don't bother leaving a message with the front desk or voicemail; they never call back. Once she lost Colleen last spring and didn' t replace her, the availability is zero. I've been a patient of this office since 2009 and have never met Dr. Ripe, only the NP. I shouldn't have to spend hours awaiting at an urgent care office around the corner from my doctor's office to get the care I need.
