Dr. Carolyn Ruth Stoloff, PhD

Carolyn was my therapist many years ago when i was a very young woman in a lot of pain. She was nothing but controlling and manipulative, talking endlessly about herself: how she wasn't over her ex-boyfriend Basil, how she was miserable in her marriage, how she was a perfect student and dated all her professors, how she used to plan so many cute outfits, all the while insulting my clothes for being raggedy, and that "i still wasn't losing any weight." She talked about her friends abandoning her after she complained about their dirty bathroom. SHE EVEN CRIED ONCE DURING OUR SESSION. She offered "to allow me to "pay later" since I had no money but she used it against me endlessly - often stating "since I'm working for free." She made it impossible for me to set clear boundaries or even complain since i was in so much pain and literally had no one else (and owed her money) - and she insulted me with impunity. If i showed up with a new anything (shirt) she would ask why that money wasn't… going to pay her, and she said i was trying to dress like her and even have her haircut. She found out that her friend was in a lawsuit against my father and gave her friend details that she learned from me about my father's vulnerabilities. Just a horrible and damaging experience. Honestly, it wasn't just lack of skill, it was cruelty. And she punctuated her cruelty by constantly saying i was going to have a C+ life. If you are seeing carolyn, run from her. She is manipulative, self-centered, insecure, and dangerous, and should have lost her license years ago. I cringe to think of the many other people she may have also hurt. Just an awful person.
