Dr. Catherine Lee Mathes, MD

After seeing Dr. Mathis for years she suddenly dismissed me as a patient without a warning or phone call. Doctors like her need to be more trauma informed. I was struggling over my mothers death at Christmas time and I ended up having to see a different doctor for my appointment because Dr. Mathis was out. I explained to the new doctor how I was so anxious and depressed, apparently the new doctor just assumed I was wanting nerve pills and basically treated me like I was a pill addict without knowing me or my history at all. Please note: I never once asked for pills. Then the next thing I know Dr. Mathis sends me a letter dismissing me, no phone call nothing. I do not recommend this place at all. After being a loyal patient of hers for years, I was treated as if I was a pill junky, when I was seriously worried that with all my anxiety I might suffer another mental breakdown. It was traumatizing on top of the depression and anxiety I was already experiencing. Traumatic experience.

Do not go to Dr. Mathes if you have ever struggled with depression and anxiety, or if you are on or ever been on Suboxone for any reason. She doesn’t care for anyone with any of these issues. She seemed so great and understanding at first. I’m a teacher trying and i have legitimate pain and had to be put on Suboxone after having a hard time getting off of hydrocodone after an accident. I do not like to tell any doctors or anyone that I’m on it for I get treated like a dope head. I’m working with my sub doctor to get off of it. Dr Mathes was out of town on one of my visits and the other doctor saw I was on Suboxone and suddenly I was filled with questions and was asked to take a drug test. I was so embarrassed and humiliated. Well as soon as Dr Mathes finds out I’m on suboxone suddenly I’m thrown out as a patient no questions asked. This is the very reason I can’t find a good doctor no doctors treat me like a human! I’m a professional I’ve taught for 12 years I’m not a dope head.

Cathy Mathis is an excellent doctor. She is not judgmental and she's easy to talk to. I always feel that she gives me as much time as I need to discuss my health.

This is the most uncaring office staff don't turn to this medical office if you are sick and in need of any kind of help

She is very good, catches problems that other doctors should not have ignored She listens. Very happy to be her patient and highly recommend her.

Figured out what was wrong with me when 5 other doctors didn't.Spent time to listen to what I had to say. I wish I came here first.

Never had a doctor that spent as much time answering my questions

She answered all my questions, diagnosed a condition and put me on medication that I didn;t know I had. Her nurse was really friendly. Office staff nice. Had to wait 15 minutes but they said it was a computer update. Would recommend.
