Dr. Cathleen Rae Faris, MD

I had a terrible experience with Dr Cathleen Faris. Her cold, condemning manner brought me to tears. Having been diagnosed with breast cancer only 4 months earlier, she showed zero empathy or compassion. I don’t know why this Dr chose women’s health as a specialty. I do not recommend Dr Faris... there are too many other good physicians to chose from in the St Louis area.

I’ve had several Pap smears before but the two I got from this doctor were painful, and left me bleeding. She was short with me, and cold. Her bedside manner was poor. I felt violated and went and cried in my car afterwards. Will never return here

Dr. Faris has terrible bedside manner and speaks to patients in a condescending tone. She lacks compassion and does not seem to be skilled in her exams. As a healthcare professional, I do not recommend her as a patient or professionally.

I had a horrible post operation experience with Dr. Faris in 2007. She came in to my hospital room to remove my staples, but my incision started to open. Rather than taking me to a sterile location. She decided to put staples back in right there in my hospital room. The attending nurse gave her a strange look as if she could not believe what she was seeing. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. Not to mention her bedside manner is horrible.

I came in very stressed about another health issue and was near tears. At no time did Dr. Faris ask if I was ok. She did my exam and asked all the appropriate gyn questions, but never addressed my obvious distress. For all she knew, I could have been suicidal, but never showed any concern for my distress. When finished, she quickly dismissed me to see other techs for tests. They were all wonderful...asking if I needed anything and even gave me a hug. I will not return to this doctor.
