Dr. Cathy Lynn Koger, DO

This review is not just about Dr. Koger but K-2 generally. My recent experience with K2 Dermatology has been one of administrative negligence and a 'medical mill' atmosphere.  I saw Dr. Koger one month ago. She gave unsolicited advice for an issue I did not come in for (dry lips). She recommended a steroid balm which caused severe swelling of my mouth and a rash. I saw PA Shannon Ross for this reaction and gave me advice on treatment. One month later the swelling had subsided but left indentations (atrophy) while the rash persisted. When I called for help, I left a message with Shanon’s technician who later left a voicemail message that I could choose between a compounded medication, without a consultation with a provider, or come in for an appointment. The only appointments they offered which wouldn’t compel me to cancel my own patients was one month out or with a junior doctor only two years out of residency—an inappropriate match for a patient with my complex medical history (I’m a… 9/11 toxic exposure survivor and on high-dose oral steroids). As a solo practitioner, I cannot afford to cancel my own patients to suit their 30-day delay for a complication THEY caused. I knew that I could not remain on a topical steroid for another month while waiting to see Shannon, a factor that was not addressed on the phone. They expect the patient to pay for clinical mistakes and medications prescribed without a doctor ever speaking to them and ignore complicating factors that can make the medical situation worse. Patients with complex histories, should avoid this practice's irresponsible system.

I am so mad that I don't even want to bother to go through all the details that went through with the doctor and her staffs, just stay away from that office !! does not worth the headache.
