My mom saw him for a urology-gyn problem that few doctors treat in Staten Island. He didn't answer her questions too well, or wasn't as patient. His exam really hurt her, even hours later though, and she told him so during it. I am hoping he didn't damage anything. He told her she had Interstitial Cystitis or so, and like the reviews below, years ago, should refrain from citrus and caffeine. He also asked her about her religion, like a commenter below. So he might be good, but some things seem odd. She wanted to know why she only needs to go to the bathroom more at nite, not during the day. Couldn't answer -- didn't entertain the question. Could that mean because it wasn't aligned with IC diagnosis? Who know. He might be good, and correct, but that was today's experience.

I am very upset that he is no longer affiliated with NYU. I tried to make an appointment yesterday and just found out. He’s no longer in that office. Best GYN ever!!!

Dr. Olivera is a wonderful and caring doctor. He has impeccable bedside manners, one of the best I have ever seen. He is very thorough when examining you. I would highly recommend him.

This was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience of my ENTIRE life. This man should not be a doctor. Not only did he perform an extremely painful exam with no anesthetic but he was not even remotely sympathetic toward me and denied me any kind of pain medication. He was very rough and heavy handed with no care taken even after I repeatedly asked him to be more careful. I began to cry and he attempted to order me to "stop crying" at which point I told him to stop the exam. He then explained the "reason for the pain". He claims my severe pain is caused by citrus/caffeine in my diet and his prognosis included the advice to "drink water". He then asked me my religion for no apparent reason claiming if I was Jehova Witness that could be problematic. He then rushed out of the office with his coat and hat in hand. Add to this the fact that the wait time in his office was OVER 2 hours. The staff is conceding and subpar at best. Take this man's license. He's an animal. He made my already… severe pain much worse. He might be book smart but he should not be dealing with patients who are in pain and in need of medical help. He might be better suited for barn yard animals and even then I wouldn't recommend him. The patient before me stated she "felt violated" by him and that should have been my cue to leave this place running. I myself feel extremely violated and mistreated.

Dr. Olivera is a professional, thorough, caring doctor. He takes the time to investigate particular medical problems and his treatment is right on target. His humor and engagement are added pluses. Highly recommended.

Dr. Olivera is a terrible doctor. He does not fit any of the essential traits of being a doctor, such as having patience with their clients. I felt uncomfortable and insulted by him. NEVER will I return.

I usually only write good reviews but I have to make an exception. I am not one to call anyone names but I agree with the other reviewers. I would not wish on anyone what Dr. Olivera did to me. It makes me angry that he would take advantage of his patients and the health care system. He should not be allowed to practice.

He was rough during examination, would not tell you when he's what, just a horrible experience. Seems to be quite an a**hole as well

THE DR. BESIDE MANNER IS EXCELENT AND HE HIS SUCH A WARN PERSON HES PARENTS DID EXELEND JOB WITH HIM. AND THIS DR. LOVE IS JOB CARRING FOR PATIENT.
