Dr. Charles Stroud Gawthrop Jr, MD

I have not had my appointment yet but I wanted to review the scheduling process. Without a doubt, this was the WORST experience that I have had scheduling a doctor's appointment in my almost 60 years on this earth. I had left a message with their answering service over 48 hours ago and did not get a return call so I called again. The office picked up. Rude is an understatement; constantly re-asking the same question.....6 times; and getting upset with me when I asked for a different date from her initial suggested appointment due to a conflict were all part of that call. However, when I asked about any paperwork that needs to be completed prior to the appointment, I was told that I should complete four of the forms on their website. I noted that there were six listed and asked which four to complete, the response I got was "then fill them all out. Goodbye" That's a quote!!! I hope the appointment goes better than this.

I had constant sinus trouble and frequent sinus infections and I went to a few ENT specialists who were not very helpful, and then I went Dr. Gawthrop and ended up having sinus surgery and now I don't have any sinus problems at all anymore! So the surgery was very successful and the recovery was much easier than I expected, too. Dr. Gawthrop did a great job for me and he is so very nice and patient. He answered all of the many questions I had, both before and after surgery. You can tell he really cares about his patients, too. I highly recommend him!!

Am having problems with ringing in ear. Went to see Dr. Gawthrop, he said hearing was fine, ears were clear, ringing would subside in time. Nothing he could do. Got a second opinion because ears were still really hurting. Dr. said I had fluid in ear and gave me medicine. Ear exam was so much more thorough with second doctor and showed that inner ear was filled with fluid.

I really like Dr. Gawthrop but agree with the 2016 review that the office staff is horrible. Everytime [called maybe three times] I call it as if you are bothering the staff and not knowledgeable at all. This is the only office that does not know who the operating team is, no information, I just says not my department, no referral information or routing one to the right place. Horrible office staff.

Dr. Gawthrop is absolutely amazing and the best doctor I’ve ever been to! I saw several ENT doctors before I found him and he is without a doubt the absolute best around! Every other ENT doctor I saw before him gave little to no information on what was causing my severe sinus issues, allergies and congestion and didn’t seem to care to help me fix the problem and just had me keep coming back for pointless follow up appointments to get more money out of me. But I was more than satisfied when I met with Dr. Gawthrop for my first appointment and he got right down to business and asked about my symptoms and checked my nose out and had me get a CT scan right away. After I got it done and went back to meet with him, he was able to tell me the problems and diagnosis right away and had me set up to come in for surgery. He is such a great and friendly doctor and genuinely cares about his patients. I recommended my mom to him as well because she has similar symptoms and she will also be getting… surgery done with him as well. I’ve also recommended all my friends and family and will recommend anyone else that comes along to him. I have never trusted a doctor as much as him and felt so comfortable with any other doctor before. He is truly amazing and I also have never wrote a review for another doctor before but I wanted to show my thanks and how appreciative and greatful I am that I was able to meet with him otherwise I probably would of never gotten my required surgery done and would still be searching for an ENT that actually cared to help me instead of just getting as much money from me as possible. I would also still be suffering if I hadn’t found him. He has the most amazing bedside manner and he was always easy to reach after my surgery if I had any questions and very quick and efficient returning calls. You couldn’t ask for a better doctor! He is a perfect example of how all doctors should be! Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for everything Dr. Gawthrop!! I have absolutely no complaints at all!

Dr Gawthrop is wonderful, but his office staff is extremely rude and abrupt. If you call when the office is busy expect rudeness and anger. Such a shame that this wonderful doctor has such a poor support staff. We have officially switched doctors.

Dr. Gawthrop was wonderful, caring and compassionate with my special needs son. I would recommend him highly.

Best ENT in the area by far.
