Dr. Charles David Goebel, DO

My friend recommended that we visit Dr. Goebel for my son's chronic ear infection which hasn't cleared up after three rounds of antibiotics and antibiotic shots. We're stuck here in town during the self-quarantine from the LA area where our pediatrician is. Dr. Goebel's entire staff was helpful and so kind. Dr. Goebel himself is absolutely heaven sent! He listens and observes carefully and is so patient with my little fearful patient who is 19 months old. He made an accurate diagnosis and referred us to a specialist and made sure that they understand that my son needs a surgery now which is often elective for other patients. He told us a beautiful story of how his own child had gone through the procedure and was forever happier. I've never encountered a more likable, wonderful doctor. I am baffled by the mediocre reviews. Please give him a chance for yourself.

My daughter has been Dr. G's patient since she was born. I didn't think anything of it when she had an ear infection for 3 months straight as an infant then had to get tubes in both ears by 6 months. Then 4 years later, we went in for a sick visit and Dr. G told us she was just had a cold. If it wasn't for my husband, who urged me to call back and make an appointment with another doctor, then we would never know that my daughter had whooping cough. From that point forward my husband has had a strong dislike for Dr. G. I keep telling my husband its not that bad, until now, 12 years later. I was advised by Dr. G to see a specialist because my daughter had some sore of anemia during her well visit. We waiting a month to get an appointment with Children's Health only to have the same exact test run and be told all she needs to do is take a multivitamin with iron, the same exact think Dr. G told us. Only now we have been charged almost $1000.

Office staff is terrible! Tried to charge me a $25 late cancellation fee when the Dr. had to leave at 4:00 pm on the dot - they canceled the appointment on me. That day I really needed to have my seen. As a consequence I was forced to take my daughter to an after hours clinic. When I communicated the importance of having my daughter seen...they absolutely did not care. Very money hungry office! This is the worst medical office I have ever been to and/or experienced. Glad to say, we've now found a new doctor's office for my daughter.

I brought my twins to Dr. Goebel during the first year of their lives, and finally switched pediatricians after many bad experiences. It wasn't until I switched to another pediatrician that I realized how bad my experiences with Dr. Goebel were. Unfortunately as a new Mom I second guessed myself, and the specialists he referred me to all had glowing things to say about him, further making me question my judgment. Where to start? Dr. Goebel blew off my preemie's symptoms of respiratory distress, implying I was overreacting. Another dr on call correctly told me it was RD and he became angry with her...he actually said to me, "that dr is just a hematologist." The next day my baby was in the ER, and BLUE. He blew me off even after that! I said "my baby could have died" and he snickered and said "he couldn't have died." He is just arrogant and condescending, as well as unprofessional. He once asked me when the last time I went to my OB was. How that is relevant or appropriate is still… beyond me. I could go on about my unprofessional, bizarre experiences with this doctor. I was naive and self-doubting as a new Mom, but now that we see a genuinely professional, kind pediatrician, I see things much more objectively. I don't usually write bad reviews, but my experiences with Dr. Goebel still upset me. A review needed to be written. Thank you.

Had my baby tested for whooping cough and was never contacted with results. Very unprofessional and shows a lack of concern for the patient. Not impressed and found another clinic.

My twins have been patients of Dr. Goebel since they came home from the NICU. He has always been incredibly kind, compassionate, and really takes his time with my kids. He understood my desire to follow an alternative vaccine schedule and involved me in the plan of care. That meant the world to me! As a mother and pediatric nurse, I can say that I truly trust his judgment.

Been seeing him since my son was born almost 11 years. Practice as gradually declined over the years. He seems to always have one foot out of the door during our visit. When I am speaking to him and sharing concerns he is writing the entire time and just nods. Very annoying. This has been going on for a while an recently I have decided to find a new pedi from my two children. A shame...we liked him a lot in the beginning, but he has lot sight of his true work.

Fabulous physician. Very nice. He is the only physician that listened to me when my son was very ill. He is the only one that believed that something was wrong. When we finally got the correct diagnosis, Dr. Goebel called us on a regular basis to check on my son. He is very compasionate. I would highly recommend him to other parents.

He thought my daughter had a brain tumor when she had a strep infection; After a month of tests (MRI, CT scan, blood tests - all on a 1st grade child), he found she had strep throat. His inaccurate diagnosis caused our family an enormous amount of stress, fear and financial costs. We will never return! When he found it was strep he didn't even call himself, he had his nurse let us know. Never once followed up.
