Dr. Charles A Rockwood JR., MD

Here's a story you would find hard to believe but how one good man can effect so many. I got in to see Dr Rockwood because I had fallen a couple stories from my barn roof shattered my heel bone in eight pieces my shoulder it broke a piece off the the end of my humorous, crushing my Bursa and Rotator Cuff. Over the next twenty two months I saw over a dozen Doctors that just shock there head and most said they didn't think anyone could ever fix that. At one point my pain management Doctors partner stood over me while I was in a chair screaming at me to stop bothering Doctors no one could fix it I should just have the Arm cut off. As he left me in tears my sister standing there with her mouth open in disbelief. The next day my Ferrier was shoeing my horses and I told him the story. He says not for nothing but 20 years ago I was thrown from a bull in San Antone and broke my Shoulder and there was a doctor at the University of Texas at San Antone by the name of Rockwood that really fixed me… up. I called and no Doctor would refer me anymore for my shoulder it had to be me just not willing to except my situation. So when I called his office I used Dave Browns name, here's the spin, one of Doctors good friends in Med School name was Dave Brown so his Receptionist was only off the phone a min. and back telling me Doctor Rockwood would see me at my earliest convenience make my plane flights and call the office back. It was a bit strange but I made my flights and headed flew out. But before, two days later I received a letter in the mail from Dr. Rockwood telling me that any friend of Dave Brown she would do what ever he could. I got right on the phone and called his office and told his secretary that the Dave ground that I was talking about was a prior patient not a friend from med school. She told me that he'd already talk to other doctors to be there when I arrived and that he thought he could help me. And that she would keep it our little secret. So when I walked into his office there was a few doctors there besides Dr. Rockwood and she had just told him the story and what's the odds. So after a over an hour of different x-rays checking out my shoulder came to realization there was nothing they could do. But whatever I did do not cut off my arm. We had gotten my website up and he thought it was great that I worked with people with disabilities and post traumatic stress with my horses. As I was getting ready to leave Dr. Rockwood said to me where you live in New York John there is a doctor at Columbia-Presbyterian Manhattan was a friend of mine named Louis Bigliani at Columbia-Presbyterian that was doing some new shoulder constructions. He gave me his name and number and after one of the greatest doctors appointments in my life I left Texas. When I got back to New York I spent a weekend writing Dr. Rockwood a letter from the heart it had been the first positive thing a doctor told me in two years and it really did give me a much needed lift. I spent the weekend writing Dr. Rockwood letter from my heart a book on the Adirondacks but before I mailed the letter on that Monday morning I called Dr. Biglianis in New York and his secretary informed me that he was eight months behind and not taking in any new patients so at the bottom of the letter that I wrote Dr. Rockwood I wrote PS I appreciate you tell me about Dr Bigliani on eight but he's not taken a new patients, and the book an invitation to come to the Adirondacks and mailed it out. Following Friday night my phone rang John this is Dr. Bigliani in Texas he told me gotten a lot of letters but none that had moved them as much as mine and that he appreciated the book on the Adirondacks and that he would take me up on the invitation that he and his wife both wanted to see New England. We spoke for a while and then he said by the way you give Dr. Biglianis office a call Monday morning and if you have any trouble getting here is my home number. Well I called Columbia-Presbyterian and New York Monday morning and his secretary said to me Dr. Bigliani will see you at your earliest convenience can you be here tomorrow. I saw Dr. Bigliani explain the procedure and he says I had a cancellation three weeks on. To make this long story short Dr. Rockwoods above and beyond getting me into see dr Bigliani whos teem has done my right shoulder and my left knee. Thanks You Doctor Rocwood you gave me back my life I still work with every type of disability and a lot of Vets suffering with PTSD, I hope you and your Wife are well and that you can still Visit the Adirondacks ! your my hero

I've kept my arm for 20 years longer than we ever thought is be able to, thanks to Dr Rockwood and Dr Michael Wirth. Both are absolutely phenomenal!
