Dr. Cheryl Lee Fong, MD

Dr. Fong’s job is to find excuses for Blue Cross to deny necessary medical treatment. My husband’s hospitalization for a bowel obstruction was denied because she didn’t have the appropriate information and did not understand or bother to ask any questions. If she just asked for the proper information and understood the specialty in which this falls under there would’ve been no problems this is been approved before without issue. She’s no business making decisions on whether and medical treatment is necessary in a specialty that she does not practice.

Dr. Fong pads out her ample income reviewing -- make that refusing treatment for -- patients for Anthem Blue Cross, where she apparently has no qualms about opining on areas of medicine way outside her areas of specialty or practice. As a patient, you would have no way of knowing when she was speaking from professional expertise and when she was just shooting off her mouth.

I have advanced breast cancer and an invasive fungal infection of the tumor which has spread into my deep lymphatics. Fong works for Blue Cross Anthem and has recommended to them that they not pay for the medicine needed to treat my life-threatening infection. I face bankruptcy along with dying from breast cancer and infection as a result of fong's recommendation.
