Dr. Chet Singh Monder

If I could have given this Dr no stars, I would have preferred that. I have battled my weight my entire life. I just recently had a thyroid issue so I scheduled my appt with him. I mentioned to him I was going to try trizepatide and his response was "you do not need to take that medicine. You just need to eat Mediterranean diet, eat less cakes and snacks... ". I also mentioned vitamins and he said you don't need vitamins. We don't live in a third world country and you should get enough nutrients from your food.". However I happen to be deficient in D.. So.... I felt like I was judged, and not heard and not "treated" in the way a professional should have been. I was not looking for anyone to say it was OK for me to be overweight. I was not looking for a pat on the back. I was also not looking for a condescending Dr who berates his patients but that is certainly what I got. If I am EVER treated like that by a Dr again I will get up and walk out of the appointment. As patients WE all… deserve better. Keep looking for the right Dr and check reviews. I wish I had and will be sure to do so going forward.

The first time I saw Dr. Monder, I was very uncomfortable. When he listened to my heart, he had to have another female staff there because he went under my shirt to listen to my heart. I was uncomfortable but a female nurse was present. I just assumed, since he is an older dr that may be why he did it that way or maybe his hearing isn’t that good. He was very demanding and said I need to research my conditions and said I had acid reflux without even knowing much about me other than I have hypothyroidism. I communicated how my thyroid levels have been fluctuating and he said they were fine and to come back in a year. Typically I have had my thyroid checked every 6 mos., especially with the fluctuations, but he said they were fine and not to let anyone else manage my thyroid. Today I had my 2nd & last visit. I will not go back to see this dr. He told me I needed to get an ultra sound. I asked where and he told me to call around. I asked if I needed a script and he said to just call… around and call my PCP. I was really confused. He got a phone call during the visit and told me to go sit in a chair and then proceeded to answer the call and leave the room without saying anything. It was someone he knew, as he made mention of how it was good to hear from them as he left the room. When he came back he told me to look up all my conditions, “every weekend.” When I told him I was familiar with the conditions and had already looked it up, he said to keep looking. Then he said that he wanted me to come back in 6 weeks for an ultra sound. Again, I asked where to go & he said, ‘here! I can do it, we have the equipment. This was very confusing as minutes late he was telling me to “call around.” He said he wanted to do the ultra sound to check my thyroid for a goiter, but this isn’t necessary. I don’t have any swelling or bulging of the thyroid. It was a very uncomfortable to be in Dr. Monder’s presence. He is demanding and will just make blanket statements without proper diagnosis and research of the patients medical history. He said I need to be on Estrogen, but he did not do any blood work to determine if I doc, plus I respond negatively to estrogen. He offered another pill instead.

I have been seeing Dr Monder for a year and feel better than I have in years he knew just what to have me take and lost 30 lbs on top of it

I was curious why every other endocrinologist had waiting lists of three to six weeks, while I was able to get an appointment with Monder in a matter of days... Now I know why. I've never bothered to leave a review for anything before, but I felt a societal responsibility to do so in this case. Bottom line, he is the worst doctor I've seen in my life. He didn't listen to a word I said, and was astonishingly rude. I just openly laughed when I read the handful of five-star reviews left on this site (pretty sure he must have written those himself). Don't waste your time and money like I did. It's worth waiting a few weeks for one of the other guys. You've been warned.

Have seen Dr. Monder for the last three years. Yesterday I was upset about my labs- and I realized that he does not really care. He put it plainly that if I did not follow his instructions am wasting my money on seeing him and he will refuse service. Basically if my diabetes or cholesterol do not improve no use in coming back. I had major surgery last year at the number one hospital in Arizona according to US News, plus two fractured bones, flu twice,pneumonia, valley fever also this year. Am immune surpressed but it does not matter to him. He gave new prescription for cholesterol/ I contacted the transplant team and my nephrologist before taking the medication. To make sure would not damage new organs. I sat in lobby waiting for my ride and cried- and also at home. That a physician that has bee in valley 29 years would lack empathy.i know need to do better on my own - but not feeling belittled

I was a little worried going to this clinic after ready all of the bad reviews but I’m glad I still decided to go. Yesterday was my first time here and it was a great experience. The reception lady that checked me in was very pleasant. My appointment was at 9am, I arrived at 8:45am, already filled out my new patient paperwork at home so all I had to do is hand it to the lady checking me in. I was called back to see the Dr at 9:00 ( my exact appointment time ) the nurse that called me back was very friendly. I waited maybe 5 mins for Dr. Chet Monder to come in. I had such an amazing appointment with Dr. Monder. From the moment he walked in he created me with a smile and was very nice and I can tell he cared. He was very thorough asking me my medical history and symptoms. He was also very thorough with the exam. He diagnosed me with Graves Disease and he was so informative, he even explained to me using the chart in his wall about what is happening with my thyroid and answered all of my… questions and made sure I understood everything he was saying. Together we worked out a game plan to treat my thyroid and I left feeling very happy and confident with my decision to have him be my provider for my Graves’ disease. Never one did he make me feel like a number, he never once made me feel stupid, he also didn’t rush the appointment. He spent 45 mins with me and he also walked me to the check out desk and told the receptionist to schedule me back for 6 weeks. Dr. Chet Monder is a wonderful doctor.
