Dr. Chi-Hua Maria Fang, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Maria Fang’s for several years. I had cataract surgery Nov. 2026. My sight was worse after Dr. Fang put in a multifocal lens. Dr. Fang had neglected to perform the Optical Coherence Tomography test as REQUIRED by the American Board of Opthalmology (OCT) prior to doing my surgery. If she had done so, she would have seen a preexisting condition in my eye, that contraindicates the use of a multifocal lens. This was discovered by a retinal specialist who I saw after surgery. This was negligence on the part of Dr. Fang. She is also in violation of the HIPPA laws protecting patient privacy. Her patient charts are kept in the exam rooms, where anyone can have access to them.

Dr. Fang insisted I had a cataract and needed a $3000.00 lens to have good vision afterwards. I saw another specialist who said that was not the case and my vision was restored to 20/25 without any additional cost. Beware of this doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Fang for several years. She is a good listener, always has a smile for every patient. She gives you good advice but do not force ion you until you are ready. She took my blurry and dry eyes and restored them to full health with tminor procedures that lasted only a few seconds each. I can’t be happier with my own eyes now.

She missed inflammation in my eye and I had to be treated much longer than I would have if she had given me the right drops.

we had to find an eye doctor on the Friday after Thanksgiving for an emergency issue. Dr. Chi-Hua Fang immediately found time for us and provided excellent medical care. The issue involved my niece who was very nervous, but she was reassured by the Dr's expertise and care. I recommend her highly.

Frankly, I rarely, if ever, bother to write reviews. However, I would be remiss if I did not do so in dealing with Dr. Fong. Four other ophthalmologists in my health plan could not operate for over six weeks, though they were willing to do the counseling session. Besides having cataracts, I also needed the doctor's help in obtaining a DMV form 962 extension on my driver's license, which was due for the five-year renewal. Most important, I felt that she truly cared about my situation and addressed all my questions, before and after, the operations. My vision is now 20/20 with glasses due to astigmatism. Being near sighted all my life, she literally performed a miracle, sight wise, for me. Concluding, I highly recommend Dr. Fong.

I have seen Dr. Fang three or four times. I find her easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, concerned about my vision. I couldn't ask for a better ophthalmologist. I look forward to my visits with her.

This is one really good doctor.
