Dr. Christina R Hathaway, PhD

I thought I was doing an initial consult and was very excited, however, I was told that my goal for therapy was to feel compassion for my abuser, before she even knew what my trauma was or personal goals were. I asked her for evidence regarding her approach, she quoted a Buddhist text. Did not backpeddle when she saw how upset I was, said it was because I was jumping to the end without having done the work or something of that sort. Made me feel extraordinarily belittled regarding my own recovery, have never had such a horrific therapy experience in my life.

I have been with Dr. Hathaway for many years now. She has consistently guided me through the better part of a decade. I am in a better place today because of her. She adapts her therapy to you. She does offer walking sessions and yoga sessions in which I think is great. She does expect you to commit to your mental health and so if you are not willing to give it your all, then this will not be the doctor for you.

Cares more about her paycheck then human life

Dr. Hathaway is truly a great therapist. She has training in several forms of therapy and she can curtail it to your needs. She offers sessions out door and even if you are traveling aboard. There are restrictions but she is more than accommodating. I have been a patient under her for several years and have had significant improvements. I have had other therapists and no one compares. This is clearly my opinion but just know that she is very opening when it comes to accommodating a patient.
