Dr. Christine Winger, MD

If you like to be completely and totally annoyed with staff, plus have your care not be taken seriously by the MD, then this is the office for you! I saw Dr O'Brien for a while, until she left the practice and no recommendation for an alternative practitioner was ever given. I had to demand the office give me an appointment with another Dr. Well, Dr Winger was good on the first visit, and after that she was more interested in fobbing off my care to anyone else, and not taking any responsibility herself. A primary care physician is suppose to coordinate care, what Dr Winger does is fob off care on others. Exactly what is she being paid for?

I am very happy with Dr. Winger, she is very though during the visits and up to date when you need tests, etc.

Dr. Winger analyzed a problem for my son and scheduled a day operation that probably save his life. She is not hesitate to order a test that will serve the patients best interest. You should consider her to be your PCP.

On several occasions Dr. Winger has failed to 'call in tests' I was supposed to have. I have had to spend a lot of time getting her office to get 'in touch with her'. She seems too busy for her patients. Her secretary has given me the Wrong appointments for hospital tests!!! The is all too inexcusable for a medical practice!!!!

Dr Winger has been my doctor for about 5 years now. She remembers what I do for work, my level of education, etc - I was very impressed by this. At first I only saw her to treat my asthma and get regular physical exams with her. That was ok. More recently I was having reproductive problems, something I brought to her attention at my physical. She told me to lose weight, as it would help the problems. Ok. I tried, no matter how much diet or exercise I was doing nothing worked. I called the office three months later and said that nothing was working and if anything I was getting fatter, heavier and was more uncomfortable. I was told again to lose weight but she'd send me to an endocrinologist. I felt like she didn't care to figure out what was wrong but just push me to someone else. I went from an endocrinologist, to a gynecologist, back to Winger and back to endorincology. Finally, months later after the endocrinologist and gynecologist ordered tests, I found out I had… PCOS.(polycystic ovarian syndrome). I feel like Winger could have listened to me as I was having more problems than just weight gain, but she didn't - she just pushed me out the door to someone else. Since being diagnosed with this and having ultrasounds etc, I've never heard from her - nothing to see how anything is going, how I am doing, etc. Nothing. She's my primary care doctor and no follow up to any of this. I think in general she's fine to go to when you are sick and need an antibiotic or some kind of med (she treats my asthma very well) or need a physical, but if you have a real problem, she doesn't give you the time of day.

Actually neglected to inform me that I had had a "silent Heart attack" some time during her 9 years as my PCP, New PCP picked it up right away but LAHEY only has record thru 2009 digitized so she's not sure when it happened. Avoid this doctor

Dr. Winger has been my PCP for about twenty years. I am healthy so I usually only see her once a year, but she always listens carefully to me when I list my concerns. She has a straight forward and practical style which suits me perfectly. She keeps up to date on professional literature and I have never found her to be uninformed. When I need to consult with a specialist she gives me a referral immediately. I feel very comfortable with Dr.Winger.

I am fairly new to Dr. Winger and I think she is a great doctor. She spends time with me and gives me different "causes" of a problem,(if it's not obvious) and then we work together to rule out causes. I think she is a great doctor. I also don't have to wait long to see her either. I'm overall happy with her.

Dr. Winger is a good doctor if you want to get in and out of the exam room quickly. She has no bedside manner, and seems reluctant to even touch me, never mind become involved in treating the cause of my degenerative symptoms. She's okay for ordering tests and meds, and that sort of thing, for a patient who is used to directing his own care.

Very unimpressed with Dr. Winger. I have had 2 visits with her and she is highly condescending and a very poor bedside manner. I will be looking for a new physician. With all I spend on healthcare, I deserve a physician that listens, works with me when I tell her my concerns and works with me to find a solution. None of that applies to my experiences with this physician.
