When I met Dr Jackson, I had just been diagnosed with a brain mass. We first met via telemedicine to discuss options for a diagnostic/treatment plan. He exceeded my expectations immediately. Not only was he knowledgeable and confident, but he was prepared, thorough and focused. He was able to explain everything in a compassionate manner, using words my family and I could understand. He took time to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns (even seemingly silly ones) without ever making us feel burdensome or rushed. A craniotomy was scheduled for within 2 weeks of that call. I never hesitated or considered a second opinion because I felt 100% comfortable and confident in his abilities. The day before surgery, I had a routine pre-procedure MRI. Within a couple hours of the scan I received a call from Dr Jackson, kindly yet urgently, telling me to come back to the hospital for emergency surgery because the mass had about doubled in size. I believe his exceptional… clinical skills, experience, timeliness, and follow through SAVED MY LIFE. And the QUALITY of my life as well. The mass turned out to be an abscess. Left untreated, even 24 hours more, could have ruptured and caused severe brain damage or even death. That was 6 months ago. I have essentially made a full recovery at this time. I look forward to living the rest of my life, that I believe was made possible by him and the wonderful care provided by Johns Hopkins. I would not want ANYONE besides Dr Christopher Mitchell Jackson to operate on my brain. Ever.
