Dr. Mattern is a great doctor. Diagnosed my knee problem when several others did not. He surgically repaired my knee and I now have full use.

I had the misfortune of making an appointment with Dr. Mattern. Based on the reviews, I expected a kind and compassionate professional. My mother is an 83-year old with Alzheimers and a recently-implanted pacemaker. Dr. Mattern said that she needed a full knee replacement. I said No because of my mother's fragile health. He gave her a cortisone shot and a prescription for 6-weeks of physical therapy and sent her on her way. No follow-up visit required and no prescription for my mother's pain. No surgery so she could just get lost. If he is a 4-star, I would hate to see a 1-star. Hard pass on this guy.

Took the time to carefully analyze my bicep issue, when two other doctors hadn’t. He also has great bedside manner. Wish more orthopedists were as on the ball as he is...

Dr. Mattern and his office were great. I was in to see him quickly. I received Xrays right away and then an MRI. He then surgically reconstructed my ACL injury and I am back to all my regular sports with no pain. I am grateful and have sent many family members to Dr. Mattern. I was happy not to have to go to the city to receive this level of expert care.

Have had 2 surgeries performed by Dr. Mattern. Has proven to be an excellent surgeon. Also takes plenty of time to explain things as well as answer all questions. His support staff should also be mentioned for excellence.

this guy is the real deal. from calming fears,to describing possible outcomes, to performing surgery, to following up on recuperation, to tracking post-surgical progress, this doctor is the poster-child for how medical care should be dispensed. and it helps that he actually cares!
