I told her about how I hit my head a few days prior and she immediately gave me a concussion exam.

Ive interacted with a handful of neuros at Cedars. Dr. Reed stands out as bizarrely argumentative (?) utterly poor bedside manner and general social skills. Quick to frustration to anger. No patience. The more questions and curiosity you have, the more her temper increases. At times it feels personal, but I feel validated seeing other have had poor experiences too. Im a very basic, normal, polite person. It is very overwhelming for me to interact with such a person as her. English is her second language, she has a VERY heavy Indian accent/not perfect English so if its difficult for you to follow along, avoid (it is hard for me to process thick accents, esp when the person is masked). Its just hard all around. If you need someone patient, gentle, and empathetic, please avoid her. Ive shed too many tears due to her.

I am the conservator of a former Cedars Sinai patient, Gal Chitrit, and I would like to leave a one-star review/rating for the physician Dr. Chrystal M. Reed from the Neurology Dept. for the following reason: It is important to note that the patient has severe autism and takes seizure and behavior medication. In one of the patient's MRI appointments, the Doctor was 45 minutes late. The patient had another appointment in a different hospital area, and the Doctor knew this. The patient needed to be sedated so he was fasting and not on his usual medications. As a consequence, the patient was antsy. When the Doctor finally arrived, tensions were already high as I was trying to keep the patient calm and I was trying to understand from the staff where the Doctor was for an appointment she was scheduled to be at. When she finally arrived, the Doctor was acting unprofessionally by rushing through the appointment. She was rushing because I believe that she knew that her lateness may cause an… overlap with another appointment that the patient had that same morning (15 minutes later.) Two weeks later, without warning, I received a letter from the Doctor saying that the hospital would no longer treat the patient. Not even a quick phone call or email was communicated as a courtesy. By the time the letter came, the high-risk patient was given only two weeks to find another physician. The letter also noted that no prescription refills would be made for the patient. Regardless of how the Doctor feels about me, I think it's extremely unprofessional to punish a non-verbal conservatee who has severe health issues. I wouldn't recommend this Doctor to anyone who is a parent/guardian/conservator who expects to have the physician attend appointments on time and not have their physician act -- in my opinion -- unprofessionally with them.

Absolute horrible doctor and staff (with the exception of Christina)! You will need to be preapproved to see this clown. She doesn't consider head injuries a serious matter and treats them as if there is no urgency. Her office staff are the typical ten dollar an hour workers who know nothing and have trouble speaking english. Find another neurologist to treat you. There plenty of them out there.

The one-star review left for Dr. Reed blows my mind. I suppose that for some patients, intelligent and confident doctors are intimidating? Who knows. But from my experience, Dr. Reed is one of the brightest, kindest doctors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I always know that I'm in good hands while under her care. On top of that, she has an incredibly gentle and loving demeanor. I always get very nervous discussing my seizures, and not only does she notice it, but she'll go out of her way to make me feel comfortable and soothe me in those moments when I'm feeling scared. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Reed. I recommend her to anyone!
