Dr. Chung Wai Ng, MD

For years, Dr. Ng used to be my whole family's doctor, i.e. my mom, my brothers and sisters, the children, myself. He used to be caring. Approximately 5 years ago, he disappeared for months. We had to find new doctors. Our HMO insurance have to have a Primary Doctor specified. By the way, the thing that was irritating about seeing Dr. Ng was you cannot make appointment. Walk in only. Sometimes we had to wait for hours. Anyway, we moved on to other doctors. What upset me so much that I have to write this review is because 2 weeks ago my older brother got sick. He felt bloated and nausea. His Primary Doctor happens to be off that day. So we thought Dr. Ng would be a good doctor to see because his Chinatown office was closest to my brother's apartment. The nurse said we had to pay cash, which we said we knew and prepared to do so. The place was pretty empty except for 2 elderly gentlemen. After waiting for 20 minutes, the nurse told us that Dr. Ng refused to see my… brother. The reason was because the doctor cannot send my brother to get x-ray. I have never ever run into a doctor that refuse to treat a sick person. Never. How could the doctor know that my brother needed an x-ray before seeing and talking with him. This is the doctor that my whole family used to look up to. Right away, I took my brother to my doctor in Monterey Park, which was 15 minutes away. My doctor knew right away what was wrong with my brother after talking and checking him out. He prescribed a couple of medicines. After taking those medicines, my brother got better that very evening, and got well enough to go to work the day after. No x-ray needed. We believe strongly that Dr. Ng is vindictive because we no longer have him as our doctor. Hate to think that maybe he is greedy, i.e. wanting a kickback from x-ray place. In any case, a doctor that refuses to see a sick person ought to give up his practice.
