Dr. Claire Marguerite Mccutcheon, MD

This woman is the most cruel, selfish, narcissistic person I have ever come across. I have never met someone who found as much joy in someone else’s suffering than her. Not only is she soul less, she’s uneducated, and she is unethical. She’s the kind of doctor to create an entirely fictional narrative that serves her about a patient who just wants help. Which is what she did to me, created an entirely false and fabricated report on my visit summary. She discharged me from the hospital without doing any necessary tests, even though they were scheduled for the next morning - and then defamed me, slandered me, and belittled me even further in my visit summary - no doubt because she knows that having something as horrible as what she wrote about me, the patient, would follow me for the rest of my life. That kind of unethical practice is one that no person nor patient should ever have to be on the receiving end of. She’s an ego maniac, and you can see that there is no love, no care, no… humanity behind those dead, dark eyes. This is a person who should not be practicing medicine and definitely not overseeing the care of anyone admitted into the hospital. She cannot get away with treating patients the way she does - even people working under her told me how cruel and difficult she can be toward patients, and that they can’t really ever convince her to change her mind once she’s decided on something - no matter how much it will harm the patient. I’ll be finding a lawyer and absolutely going to speak to anyone at Scripps willing to listen as well as file a formal report with them. What she did was medical malpractice and negligence. Defamation, falsifying records, denying care, discharging me despite active medical needs, patient abandonment, psychiatric mislabeling, and disability discrimination are just some of the things she needs to be held accountable for - but also what she’s going to be sued for. Someone has to hold this dangerous person accountable and I wonder how many patients have died under her care, or lack thereof. A formal investigation into this doctors behavior and actions is absolutely necessary. I had a panic attack when she discharged me and she smiled and laughed, walking away while the nurses and my husband all tended to me. That was one of the most traumatizing experiences I’ve ever had. And to think that I requested to speak with her so that we could maybe understand each other better (I’m autistic, I thought maybe I communicated poorly with her) just for her to come in looking excited to discharge me AMA and deny me of care. This is a very hateful and dangerous person. Stay away. If she is ever your doctor, you’re better off leaving and going somewhere else. I’ll never be a patient at Scripps again because any hospital willing to employ someone like that is clearly negligent themselves.
