Dr. Clifford Todd Solomon, MD

I've suffered with sciatica for nearly 30 years. I recently had a laminectomy performed by Dr. Solomon. All pain is gone. No discomfort at the surgical site. Excellent bedside manner . Cannot recommend him and his staff highly enough.

I was diagnosed with a meningioma and was scared to death what my next steps would be. I was referred to Dr. Solomon. He immediately put me at ease. He explained everything in terms that I understood. He answered all of my questions and concerns. My surgery was scheduled for a month later. I received very clear instructions on what I needed to do prior to surgery and what to expect after surgery. The day of my surgery I saw Dr. Solomon and immediately relaxed. I do not remember very much from the time I entered the operating room until I woke up in recovery. I saw my family in ICU. Dr. Solomon spoke with my family and I also saw him in the ICU. He stopped in and saw me each day that I was in the hospital. If I had an issue, he saw to it that it was resolved ASAP. Fortunately I did not have any serious issues. I can without reservation say that I had the absolute best surgeon and the absolute best outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Solomon. If I could give more than five stars… I certainly would. I will be forever grateful for everything that Dr. Solomon did for me and in particular the skills he processes as a surgeon.

Just had a second back surgery with Dr. Clifford Solomon. And he is a brilliant neurosurgeon! He works at the Baltimore, Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He is the head of the neurosurgery department.Originally trained in Switzerland and Johns Hopkins. He worked alongside Dr. Ben Carson (very well known neurosurgeon). At Hopkins for many years. I originally picked Dr. Solomon in 2014 when my cervical spine was failing. He quickly made a plan for my care both pre and post surgery andi it was successful. Last month I had a second back surgery with Dr Solomon. In July. Everything turned out fine and he treats all his patients with the utmost respect. He’s very easy to talk with.and thats not always the case with many surgeons. I’d highly recommend him for any of your neck and back needs. He says that most of his practice today is caring for people with back and neck pain and making their spines as good as new afterwards. He also takes most insurances. So whether you… are looking for a neurosurgeon or simply to get a second opinion Dr Solomon is the!!!

To put it mildly, Dr. Solomon saved our brother’s life. He counseled with us before the procedure and met us at his bedside to explain the “less than one percent” chance he had to recover from the brain bleed that actually shifted his brain. When I saw the images of this following the surgery II immediately understood why our brother’s functioning was off and he was falling asleep on and off. The doctor informed us of the challenges he had to undergo to get to the Hospital to perform this 4-5 hour surgery. And, to see our loved one talking and lucid was/is a miracle! The doctor agreed! We absolutely and unequivocally recommend Dr. Solomon if you or anyone you know needs brain surgery to contact him. He shoots straight, he’s compassionate mixed with a little humor, and for those that are at the bedside of a critically, ill patient I think that’s needed and desired. I have suffered from spinal stenosis in my lower back for nearly 20 years. Any time I stood or walked for more than a few minutes my legs became very sore. The time to onset of pain got gradually shorter over the years. I met with Dr Solomon ten years ago. He advised me to try physical therapy and consultation with a pain management doctor before moving to surgery. Those things did not help, so during a 2024 visit, he suggested that he could do a laminectomy to remove some of the vertebral bone that was impinging on nerves. Dr Solomon performed surgery at the Baltimore-Washington Hospital Center on Feb 11, 2025. The surgery was a complete success. Within 7 hours after the surgery, I was able to walk around the hospital floor with minimal pain. I went home the following day and was able to do longer walks in my neighborhood and go up and down stairs without pain. I am experiencing zero pain in my legs when I walk or stand now – a significant improvement in quality of life.… Today, six weeks after surgery, I was cleared to resume my normal activities. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Solomon for others with similar problems.

I felt an instant connection with Dr. Solomon the moment he walked into my exam room. He is personable, professional, experienced, concerned and he is a magician in his own right, on so many levels! He showed me the films of my spine, explained the problems, and immediately knew how to proceed. I saw multiple doctors for my spine before discovering Dr. Solomon (who came highly recommended). I had been told that I needed a fusion, but Dr. Solomon saw things differently. "You don't need a fusion..." It was the best news I had heard! I ended up with a laminectomy and it changed my world! The excruciating pain I was experiencing, was gone immediately following surgery...it was like someone flipped a switch. I am forever grateful for the great care, exceptional knowledge, and follow up from this amazing surgeon (he has a great staff as well!). Don't hesitate, call him!!

From beginning to end, my surgical experience with Dr. Solomon was exceptional. A s you might read elsewhere, Dr. Solomon spends more time counseling patients against surgery. He's not a typical let's operate first surgeon. But if you've tried everything else, he should be your choice. I had suffered with neck issues for 30 years, and the need for treatment had become urgent. My symptoms had gotten so bad that on the day prior to surgery, I came close to passing out three times. Twenty-four hours after surgery, I was symptom free. Six weeks later, back in the gym doing a full workout. Importantly, the hospital experience was also wonderful. Really? Yes! Dr Solomon has a specialized unit, and the care there was superb. My sweetheart who has been a senior manager in several health care systems noted that it was the best specialized she had ever seen. Notably, she is now also a patient. So, take it from us—a really picky perfectionist and an experienced health care… professional, "Cut here."

I suffered with severe neck pain for 15+ years. I was terrified of neck surgery and put it off for as long as possible. It wasn't until I met Dr. Solomon that I was willing to have the surgery. He was the only doctor that was willing to tailor the surgery to my specific condition. The results exceeded my wildest expectations. I am writing this two years after surgery and am still in disbelief at how amazing my life has become due to having this surgery. If you are considering spine surgery, GO WITH DR. SOLOMON!!
