DR. Long, you no doubt remember me from Johns Hopking in mid 2007. I was the (Swedish Guy) VietNam Veteran that was injured by landing on my TailboneI and had 3 surguries with you & Dr Murphy. I was asked for permission to use my outcome of a Fat Packed 3cm x 9cm Tarlov Cyst. Then after, I had 2 Infections that, because my body didn't like it! I am still Here at almost 80 years now and LQQKING for options of the growing issues i had after your surguries a few years later. It Was so Successful that the Head Nuero Sugeron LeTart at Hines/Loyola Laughed it foff as he said he tried 3 and Failed. YIKES, That's when I found You and the T C World Wide Network "Skan". Thank You ever so much again for your Care. I was passing by LQQKING for documation as my Doctors don"t want to believe how excruciating TC Pain can continue on 15 years later thru the Nerves. Dr. Long literally saved my life. I live in Carlisle, Pa and developed excruciating lower back pain when I lifted a box. It felt like my lower back blew out. Long story but a friend of ours who is a local surgeon suggested I see Dr. Long. It took probably six months at least to go through all the tests. When I finally met with him I knew he was the guy. He said he would take care of me and he did. I had tarlov cysts at my S1 and S2 nerves. Every time my heart beat the cysts pulsated against the nerves. The pain was excruciating. He said he had never seen nerves so deformed. I had my surgery in 2002. I remember him coming in and telling me how he could see every nerve descending from the base of my spine. The second day I was getting around and the third day I was walking up steps. His nurse/assistant at the time was amazing. I believe her name was Sue. I told them I had to leave on Friday because our son was going to prom that evening! My husband picked me up and back to Carlisle with… plenty of time to spare. Many physicians didn’t accept that tarlov cysts could cause that much pain but Dr. Long believed in the pain and me. He is a wonderful man and Johns Hopkins is an amazing hospital. I have had no pain all these years. Thank you Dr. Long??

Dr. Long is an expert in the field. I came from the Carlisle PA area while he was Chief of Neurosurgery at John Hopkins to perform a rather difficult spinal surgeon. Now I need his expertise again and will be consulting DR. Long.

There may be competitive neurosurgeons in other galaxies, but Dr. Donlin Long is the finest, most experienced on our planet. He is truly exceptional, and an extraordinary gentleman.

Dr. Long has been following me for years and has kept me upright and relatively pain free. It is too bad he is retiring and cutting back.
