Dr. Colleen Ann Blanchfield, MD

Wow, no Reviews since the Pandemic. I had seen this NP since 2016 or so. She was better than. Now, if the zoom call is done, the next phone call to the patient is her Accts Rec. wanting your Credit card info for payment. If I had questions to her later that week about my treatment or medication, they were NEVER answered. Even her nurses would tell me, leave a message for them, then they could call me back bc Dr. B was on zoom all day. The nurse also Never never returned calls. Are you hearing me, Dr. B NEVER called me back in 2021. All she cared about was her bottom line. When they called and wanted my credit card, I told them I needed to speak to her first and I was so aggravated having to wait 1-2 weeks. She didn't care why I was angry and said I was rude to her staff. Correct, rude bc SHE didn't answer her patient questions. She shouldn't have a license.

Dr Blanchfield is a brilliant doctor. She is both a psychiatrist and a neurologist. She has a deeply amazing understanding and appreciation for the brain and how it works. I started seeing her because the of a few failed trials of psychiatric medications. Before meeting her I was pretty discouraged and sick due to all of bad medicine attempts. The first meeting I spent over an hour with a nurse or maybe it was a nurse practitioner. Then I spent 45mins or so with the doctor. So the negative reviews saying you are there a long time don’t really represent why - you are being seen for a long time and you see a nurse first at almost all appointments. Anyways, Dr B was able to look at my dead end situation and somehow brilliantly figure out where the other doctors went wrong. Most appointments she draws the brain and explains to me is happening on a chemical and physical level and how those impact my emotions/psych health. She gives you a literal and figurative “big picture”. Follow… appointments I spent 30-45mins with a nurse or nurse practitioner the. 15-40mins with the doctor. Most days you have to wait any where from 5-30mins in between seeing the nurse and doctor. If she has an emergency patient that is doing terrible then that could be a longer wait. Honestly I don’t mind because to me that means when I’m not doing well then she will make extra time for me instead of having a revolving door kicking patients out that are clearly struggling. And I have been that patient. And she took amazing care of me when I needed it there most. Sorry to anyone that had to wait because of me but I gotta say it was worth it because now I’m doing so well that I have “graduated” from the practice. Also, the front desk generally changes yearly or more frequently. At times it gets stable for longer but not too often. Overall, the front was helpful but they definitely were busy on the phones so you might be on hold. I recommend leaving a message and they always called me back the same business day without a doubt especially if I needed something urgent. Maybe a year two ago they setup an email for the office too so that was helpful too - highly recommend it as well. It’s a time saver. And if needed, the manager was always helpful and professional too.

I am very grateful for Doctor Blanchfield's kind and direct approach and it is evident that she truly cares about her patients. She listens carefully and is very thorough and competent in finding optimal treatment. Additionally, in my experience, it is highly unusual for a psychiatrist to provide patients with the ability to page her outside office hours and I have been amazed how responsive and kind she was when I experienced a crisis. She is very generous with her time when it's needed - sometimes someone else needs a bit more time so I don't ever mind waiting when she is running behind schedule.

Dr. Collen Blanchfield was able to help me rebalance my chemistry to overcome anxiety and hormone imbalance. I love her positive attitude and gutsy nature. She gets to the heart of the problem in her dialog and isn't afraid to tell me what she thinks I should do personally to improve my situation. Thank you! she also gave me her personal cell phone and would reach me at night to confirm issues.

I can hardly believe I saw the doctor described in these ratings. From the minute she opened her mouth to speak she displayed an attitude and tone implying "you are a drug addict and I don't trust you"! She spoke down to me during the entire appointment. She spoke "at" me. She "told" me how things were going to be for managing my severe chronic pain.There was never a conversation between a patient/doctor. It was like walking into enemy territory. I wish I hadn't ignored the extremely negative energy I felt upon walking into her office! God help anyone seeking help for depression. After my encounter with her I actually considered suicide. She's that bad!

Dr. Blanchfield is truly an exceptionally smart and invested doctor and her team (office staff, nurses, psychologists, physical therapist, nutritionist, etc) are always hardworking and genuine. Everyone in Dr. Blanchfield's practice makes you feel that they truly care about you and what you are going through. I recommend all of the providers in this office especially Dr. Blanchfield without reservation. She listens - she individualizes treatment - she teaches patients about their illness in a understandable approach - she doesn't make you feel rushed - she goes above and beyond time and time again! Regarding Insurances/Payment: They are fee for service which means that they are out of network with all commercial health insurance companies, they opted out of Medicare but still take patients with Medicare coverage, they are out of network with Tricare but definitely do take patients with Tricare coverage (despite the contrary in other comments), and the only patients that they do… not take are patients with Medicaid coverage.

Dr. B really cares about her patients and gives them her full attention. She has helped my son restart his life since he was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme and was out of school for the last 5 years of school. .She is caring and smart. Explains to him how the brain works and why he has his challenges and how to change them. I can't say enough about her.

Dr. Blanchfield is special and I highly recommend her, if you are looking for a skilled, knowledgeable, empathic and supportive doctor. She cares about her patients and makes each person feel valued as a human being!

Colleen is the doctor who saved my life. Because she noticed very quickly that I was missing my anti-depressant medication that another Doctor (Dr. K) had me stop taking, because according to him, it was not allowing me to sleep well.

Dr. "B" is amazing. I was in a deep dark hole with clinical depression and was barely existing. Within six weeks, I actually regained an appetite; can get out of bed in the morning (trust me - it wasn't easy!); and am starting to feel human again. ABSOLUTELY the best psychiatric practice I've ever been to. Great therapist and nutritionist and Dr. "B" is a fantastic psychiatrist who actually takes the time to explain what's going on --- and she follows up and is available by a pager. Imagine that! She even called me out of the clear blue a few times to see how I was doing and to make adjustments on my Rx. THANK YOU!!!
