Dr. Connie Susan Funk, MD

I was very pleased with Dr. Funk in the beginning. But I've had this lower back and hip pain for eons. She sent me for x-rays and found nothing. Never did she suggest an MRI to for deeper evaluation of my problem. My neck and shoulders are full of arthritic issues...so couldn't that possibly be the same issue? An MRI would of shown that.

Although I rated Dr. Funk's "bedside manner" as average, I have discovered that, despite her pleasant demeanor, she does not listen to me when I describe symptoms and ask for information. On two occasions I have asked for my cholesterol numbers, as she has prescribed meds for high cholesterol. Not only do I not get the numbers after a blood draw, but she acts insulted that I would want to know and be involved in my own medical care. On my last visit, when I again asked for the numbers, instead of a "your numbers have improved", she printed out a sheet with the most recent results and made a comment including: "knock yourself out". I'm aware that a lot of patients do not want to be as involved in their own body/health care as I, but I explained to Dr. Funk the first time I met with her, that I would be an active partner in my own healthcare and would like to have a copy of all test results, etc. On my last visit, before sending me for x-rays for hip pain, she had already… decided what the problem was before I left her office and refused to do more testing - I disagreed with her conclusions.

Very caring, thorough, and knowledgeable.Goes the extra mile for all of her patients. She is commended by my friends who also go to her, without her knowledge of our friendship.
