Dr. Craig Cassidy, DO

Dr. Cassidy has destroyed my eye site, he had misdiagnosed me twice took out my cataracts without even knowing what I really had and then told me I didi not have glaucoma and had I not gone to Barnes Delaney and Perkins glaucoma specialist I could be compliantly blind by now. I have lost a considerable amoumt of eye site and am losing more and mor e as time goes by. I spoke to an attorney and hope to peruse a law suit with this negligent man, he is discus ting.

Had laser surgery far an astigmatism which cost me $1500 out of pocket . Dr Cassidy said it worked but since three different places told me it was still there. Been back to Cassidy and he just wants to medicate my eye. Never showed concern that my eyesight In that eye is bad.

Went to Dr. Cassidy about 9 months ago and he said I had a macular pucker in my right eye. Referred me to retinal Consultants of AZ. who confirmed the diagnosis. Had surgery to repair with 6 months healing time. After surgery eyesight was excellent compared to before. I was cautioned that the cataracts would grow fast and they did. My eye sight grew worse in the six months and was told to get cataract surgery. I went back to Dr. Cassidy to perform the cataract surgery. He said I had an astigmatism in that eye and he could correct it for me and do the cataract surgery at the same time but it wasn't covered by my insurance. $1500.00 out of pocket plus he collected money from my insurance. The day after surgery when I took the patch off my sight was really good. At checkup he said I had 2030 sight and could drive without glasses which I could but that was short lived and my sight got steadily worse. as of today I can't see anything clear near or far. I tried to talk to him and the person… I saw today and it was like I wasn't saying anything. He wouldn't ask me how I was doing. When I did ask he said well it is because of the macular pucker surgery. It was that I was getting the bum rush and excuses. It makes me wonder if there was a mess up in the surgery or the lenses he put in. It always feels like I have something in my eye. He says dry eye. I use the terra tears he recommended and doesn't work. Said my eye would get better at first now says maybe it will a little. Always an excuse of dry eye and the macular pucker. Why and it seems as I cant get an answer form Dr. Cassidy why was it food after each surgery than gets worse and he kept saying just use the drops and will get better but since my sight didn't come back its because of the pucker. I would like some answers. Not the strong arm tactics I felt I got today from him and staff.

Realizing for the past several years that my vision was rapidly failing, I decided to have my eyes checked. My wife insisted, after some research, that I should see Dr.Cassidy. (HE'S THE BEST, HE'S THE BEST). During my first visit they took pictures of each eye with some sort of electronic camera (?) The photo's showed that on my right eye the cataract had covered about 75% of it. My left eye was in much better condition, but in a few years it would require surgery also. Dreading having eye surgery, but realizing it was now unavoidable, I scheduled to have the surgery. Arriving early in the morning I was prepped by a professional team and rolled into the surgical area where Dr.Cassidy introduced himself. Some sort of patch was placed over my eye and he said to me ''I'm going to shine a bright light into you eye''. After 4 or 5 second I told him ''I don't see anything'' and he replied ""that's great''. He proceeded with the procure and I felt NOTHING, NO PAIN ! I… told friends later I could have been a little more comfortable if he would have fed me Swiss Chocolate while operating. Two weeks later I was back for surgery on my left eye. Why not ? NO PAIN, Its going to become necessary, and insurance pays for it. Again, I was prepped by a professional team and again rolled into surgery. Dr Cassidy said hello and we were off to the races. This time however, after ''I'm going to shine a bright light in your eye'', I nearly came off the table ! A woman somewhere in the room yelled ''DON'T FLINCH''. a few seconds later the light became unbelievably brighter. I mean BRIGHT. And again ''DON'T FLINCH''. I was in shock, this shouldn't be happening. This was different from the first eye ! I was terrified and about to yell STOP when I passed out. After a brief recovery I left . Dr. Cassidy did call my home later to ask me wife if I was ok. She told him I was sleeping. I never saw or heard from him again ! A few days later I returned for a check-up. It was obvious to me the entire staff was uneasy with my presence. You can tell when your not wanted. According to the people who checked me both eyes were ''OK"". At first I would have agreed, but in the last few months my left eye has really started to fail. And this WAS my good eye ! What went wrong ? I wonder if Dr. Cassidy will read this ? Does he have such concern for his patients (read his web-site) that he might check on me ? WILLIAM M KERR

I had my lasik surgery done by Dr. Cassidy several years ago and I couldn't be happier. He is very professional and personable. I would recommend him to anyone who is in the market for eye surgery.

I WENT TO BARNET- DELANY FOR MY FIRST CATARACT SURGERY AND WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE . FOUND THESE GUYS THEY WERE MORE PROFESSIONAL.MORE CARING. I DID NOT FEEL LIKE I WAS ON A PRODUCTION LINE AND THEY WERE CHEAPER

I am very disappointed with the results of my cataract implant lens surgery. Prior to having the surgery I explained what I was hoping for and what my work needs required and was told the crystalens was the best option. Which I was a little surprised by but since he was so adamant about it I trusted in his judgement and thought perhaps it was just that much better than the other lens choices that it was an easy recommendation for him to make. After the surgery my vision is just good in intermediate and distance range but inside of the ten foot range to very close is very blurry which was one of the things I was explicit about needing for my work. Now I have been told by the doctor it is an intermediate lens and that "I am like an athlete in training" and the vision restoration chart I was given to train with states it "may" keep improving up to a year. I was never told any of this ahead of time. I do spend a good deal of time everyday working with the chart but it has been 2… months and very little improvement for real world everyday application. I paid extra for the laser used in the surgery as I was told by the doctor it would enable him to do his job better I also paid extra for a device that measures the size of lens needed for me once my cataract lens was removed because I was told it could possibly make the difference of reading a couple of lines on the eye chart. I had previously had a distance lens implant in my OTHER eye for cataract (with another doctor) and that distance only lens out performs the crystalens in all ranges and has done so from day one and at no extra out of pocket expense. On the follow up visits the assistant does the usual tests to determine my vision on the chart and reading sheet but no one has even told me the results so I don't know what my vision is at this point but going off how little I can make out on both the distance, intermediate and near charts it's not good so maybe that's why it's not being discussed with me.

I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Cassidy and his amazing staff. I had the LasEk procedure two weeks ago today. The consultation with Jeff was informative and straight forward. My pre-op screening and care were exceptional. I totally felt at ease and trus...ted Dr. Cassidy and his staff 110%. The day of the surgery I was quite nervous but from the moment I got to the office until the time I left I felt completely at ease and extremely well taken care of. Dr. Cassidy called me personally on Saturday to see how I was doing and immediately took my call Saturday night when I had a question aboout my medication. I had to stop in to the office yesterday to have my eyes checked and I am already seeing 20/20 although my vision is still a little blurry but getting better everyday. Thanks to the patience of one awesome staff member, I was able to take advantage of the advanced technlogy and look forward to my vision when my eyes are completely healed. This surgery has changed my… life! Thank you all so much...
