Dr. Cuong Tho Nguyen, MD

My mother was diagnosed with rare fistula behind her eye in Sept 2020. She required two complicated surgeries to repair the bleeding and Dr Nguyen was amazing at both. His ability to explain the procedure, potential complications and expected recovery process was amazing. He was available before and after the surgeries to answer questions and for follow up. I am so grateful to God for giving Dr Nguyen the knowledge and compassion that my mother needed at that time. We are and will forever be thankful for Dr Nguyen and the NeuroICU staff and Novant Presbyterian.

Dr. Nguyen recently performed a very successful procedure on my aneurysm which was new to him, and also to Novant Health. I found him, and his staff, to be exceptionally knowledgeable and most of all caring. Every step was explained in detail. I highly recommend him.

Dr Nguyen was my surgeon for my aneurysm. He took the time to explain everything that was going to happen during the procedure. He told me my aneurysms was going to be a challenge because of the location but he said he was confident of the outcome. I complained that I had trouble reaching his office and he gave me a better number to reach him at. I was walking down the hallway of the hospital one day and we passed by each other. I said hey Dr Nguyen and he said hi Melanie. He knew who I was and my name. That says a lot. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Nguyen and his skills as a doctor. I am so glad I chose him as my doctor.

My husband has stage 4 lung cancer, tumor collapsed T-5 vertebrae, Dr Nyugen was to do kyphopasty on vertebrae to relieve pain. Would be able to tell a difference in two days up to 7-10 days!! Pain became worse immediately, called talked to triage nurse several times, she would call back some times within a day or several days. Kept saying to wait per Dr Nyugen! Finally had to go the ER FOR HELP! Still haven’t heard from him AT ALL. No bedside manners and not sure if he was experienced for this particular procedure. Another vertebrae was collapsed and another vertebrae was pushed into spine for severe pain. So sad we never heard from him or his office. Will not recommend him to anyone. Bell

His office does not return calls regarding follow ups. The would rather your aneurysm bust and fill your brain with blood. Stay away at all cost. Your LIFE depends on it.
