Dr. Cynthia Yvonne Abban

Our entire family was committed to the same Dermatologist for over 50 years. The practice recently changed to bring other practitioners to the office, as our long-time medical expert retired. Sadly, this practice combined with other dermatologists to form a bigger dermatology group. The new staff must have been invested in sunscreen lotions, as for each visit to the office ended up being lectured on the use of sunscreen. You could no longer make an appointment to get your skin problem addressed during the same appointment. Simple procedures that could be easily done on one visit ended up being several office consultations. I decided to find another dermatologist. Fortunately, I was able to find Dr. Abban, of Aurora Health Care Dermatology. I made an office appointment with her to have two spots on my shoulders evaluated that were not healing. On my initial visit, Dr Abban was able to do a shaved biopsy of these lesions and sent them to the lab for testing. The results were… found to basal cell carcinoma. Problem for now resolved. I must say my office appointments was extremely satisfactory. The staff was on time and very professional. Dr. Abban, displayed confidence and knowledge in providing care. She was kind and expressed genuine interest in caring for her patients. As a patient, you certainly felt she was experienced to diagnose and treat my skin problem. I felt confident in her surgical expertise. I would not hesitate to make a referral to Dr. Abban of Aurora Health Care Dermatology for any family member or friend having skin problems. Thank you!
