Dr. Cynthia Barrett Romp Zelis, MD

I have been going to Dr. Zelis for 6 years now and I am very happy with her care. She is young and energetic and really knows her field. Its true that she may see multiple patients at one time, she is in high demand, this common for doctors that are excellent in their profession. I am glad to have her for my primary doctor and I hope to keep it that way for many years to come.

I was referred to Zelis for a chronic pain condition. I met with Zelis in November, and she seemed genuine and caring. At the end of my appointment she asked if i wanted her to be my primary physician and i said yes. So i had some test results from a test i had in September-long before i first met with Zelis-sent to her. At my second appointmentZelis went off about the test results, that everything was supposed to go through her and i never brought up this issue...wjy would i have in our first meeting if i was there fir pain management? SHE brought up being my primary at the end of my first visit, and i brought all my records in to my second visit. But she could not comprehend that, she went on for a half hour and had me in tears. Needless to say i never went back and continue to tell everyone about her bad an inappropriate behavior.

Did wait for appointment but Dr. Zelis spent a long time reviewing tests and coordinating followup appointments and specialist referrals. her positive energy made me optimistic and she spends hours after hours contacting her patients closely and answering their detailed questions.

This doctor is really hyper and kind of a spaz. She's zipping in and out of offices as she sees multiple patients at the same time. I've found her to be less than compassionate and even dismissive about some of my medical problems. The big problem is her office staff. The phone line is busy for hours at a time. Phone receptionists are quite rude, especially when you are trying to schedule an appointment or request prescription refills. It usually takes me at least two weeks and multiple calls to get my prescriptions refilled. You have to schedule your pap smear about six to eight months in advance with this doctor -- ridiculous. They specialize in kids, so maybe they should stick to that.

I have been a patient for almost 5 years now but am absolutely disgusted by my visits in the last two years! The biggest problems for me are 1) the wait time is always ridiculous! Some days you wait an hour and a half before she finally comes in! To add insult to injury for the past 2-4 visits I have waited that long only to receive 5-10 minutes with her rushing in and out of the room! On my last visit I didn't even get to go over my issues before she ran out of the room and on to her next appointment! 2) Is the fact that she has tests done but doesn't stop to explain what they came back as, simply tells you "we need to continue monitoring and come back for the next test at this time" which is frustrating! If something merits continued monitoring please have the decency to explain why! Plus the cost for a regular office appointment is more than I have ever paid a specialist! All these issues combined have brought me to the conclusion that she is not fit to be my doctor!!

Dr. Cynthia Zelis is an amazing doctor. Not only is extremely knowledegable and educated in her field, she is just as courteous, caring, and helpful. She listens to the patient's needs and suggestions. She's always professional but can almost be seen as a friend. She's wonderful!

Dr. Cindy Zelis takes the time to listen and to get to know you, your lifestyle and concerns. My mother, children and I were among her very first patients and have remained with her and her practice since then. (Hubby Brian also wonderful doctor). She is a true healer and very compassionate about how family and relationships affect your health. Highly recommend!
