Dr. Dalton Remell Carpenter, MD

I have seen this doc for almost two years with various issues stemming from peripheral neuropathy. Broken leg with hardware to broken foot and ulcers. He has been excellent to me. In the VA system they sometimes scoot you from one doc to the next just on rotation of who is available. For me, this didn't work. I wanted a doc that I can work with and trust in who knew me and my case, and Doc Carpenter was it. He is straight, to the point in a southern gentleman kind of way, gets you taken care of and fits you in his schedule when needed, explains things well, takes the time to answer questions and follows up on your case, and finds solutions that work best for you. When it comes to my bones, this is the only guy I want to deal with, and would recommend him to my closest friends and family any day.

Saw him following an ER diagnosis of osteonecrosis. He was warm and caring! He disagreed with ER and Imaging Departments which earlier diagnosed osteonecrosis; he provided steroid injection for relief. Wrote I had no history of using prednisone, which can cause osteonecrosis Did not order definitive MRI and his misdiagnosis allowed disease to progress & require total hip replacement. No follow-up but did recommend return in 10 days, but no appointment available in that time frame. Standard of practice is that hp pain and history of prednisone use suggests osteonecrosis & MRI to confirm but the doctor did not treat properly.
