Dr. Douglas Eugene Carlan, MD

I came to Dr. Carlin's office with numbness in my left thumb, and pain in my left wrist. He told me I had Carpal Tunnel Wrist Syndrome. My MRI findings showed "synovial cyst... spurring... and three loose bodies in the wrist and joint" and I asked to have them removed. He would not remove the loose bodies, but convinced me that I needed Carpal Tunnel Wrist Surgery - his specialty. But he never performed a test to confirm that I had Carpal Tunnel Wrist Syndrome. The day of the surgery, I again asked if he could remove the synovial cyst and three loose bodies in my wrist. He again said that Carpal Tunnel Wrist Surgery was what I needed. Now four months later there is no difference in the numbness in my left thumb. However, the pain in my left wrist is significantly worse. Maybe Dr. Carlin is the best at Carpal Tunnel Wrist Surgery, but that is obviously not what I needed.
