Dr Ransom had decided on my diagnosis before meeting me, and from things she later said, I get the impression that she had only briefly glanced at my records. She refused to listen to anything I had to say, accused me of faking test results that I had no way of faking, ignored anything that didn't point to the diagnosis that she wanted - including her own tests - even when her diagnosis doesn't fit as well as the one the tests point to, told me how I thought and felt -never once being correct, and accused me of seeking a particular diagnosis because I had "researched it too much" and "wanted it to be the case", rather than accepting that I might know more about how I experience the world, and that it lines up very well with a particular diagnosis. It was almost like being accused of being a drug seeker, except this particular diagnosis comes with no drugs or treatments, the only "positive" to being diagnosed, aside from peace of mind, are possible small accommodations might be made… available in a work or school setting. At once point she said, and I quote, "I'm not going to listen to you, I'm going to talk over you.". She is also quite ableist, stating that I was "too intelligent" to have the diagnosis I believe to be the correct one, and disregarding how difficult it would be for me to travel out of the area for a second opinion, due to my physical disabilities. Over all, she is dismissive of anything that doesn't fit her view, refuses to consider that you might know more about your own thoughts and feelings than she does, doesn't take the time to listen to you, and doesn't appear to have bothered to even read your file properly before you arrive for your appointment. She was also late to both my appointments with her, and spent as little time as possible with me.
