Dr. Daniel Mark Burchfield, MD

I have heard from several of his patients that he tends to fall asleep in the middle of his appointments. Once is fine as there might be a valid reason, but more than that is cause for considerable concern. What if this were to happen during his surgeries? Is the Medical Board aware of this???? If so, are they covering up for him??? Please do a thorough research before making an appointment with this MD.

Visited this Doctor when my knee gave out. His mode of operation is x-rays, MRI and eventually surgery to clear out debris in the knee. Once he made his money never saw him again. Three subsequent visits had me seeing his PA's who sent me to rehab only to have the knee completely give out. Avoid at all cost. I am a retired Air Force Officer.

Long story but he did not diagnose me with a severe infection in the hip replacement even with an x-ray. Two weeks later a very competent Dr. did an X-ray and saw that I has a severe infection which was eating away my bone. I plan to file a complaint with the State medical board

I am sitting here writing this in my hospital bed after my second surgery by Dr. Burchfield. I have a rare condition called Avascular necrosis of the Femoral Head, in which the vascular system on my femur has been damaged and the head of my femur has begun to die (I am told this is a similar condition to what ended Bo Derek’s career) and I unfortunately have it in both hips. Before, during, and after both surgeries, Dr. Burchfield has been great. He appears to be a very busy surgeon, but when my condition had been discovered by an MRI ordered by my Primary Care Physition, and my first Orthopedic Surgeon (whom I had been seeing for a shoulder condition) was unable to see me for several months, I called Dr. Burchfield’s office at the recommendation of a friend (and patient of Dr. Burchfield). Dr. Burchfield’s staff (who are also super great by the way) were able to schedule me in the very next week. I saw Dr. Burchfield on a Wednesday, and after thoroughly explaining my condition… to my (very concerned) wife and I, scheduled me for surgery that Friday. The surgery went well and Dr. Burchfield personally spoke with my wife in the waiting room and explained how the procedure had gone for which she was very grateful. The following day (Saturday) Dr. Burchfield called me personally to check and see how I was doing. After reading some of the reviews on this site, I cannot even imagine Dr. Burchfield (or his staff) treating ANY patient in those ways. Dont listen to these bad reviews, these people are absolutely wrong. I tore my ACL playing college football and was really sketched out about surgery. Burchfield was very considerate toward my injury and was very informative and straight to the point. He got me back to playing college football after a torn ACL and Meniscus. He also performed ACL surgery on Troy Aikman and the US Olympic team surgeon back in the day. The guy is straight up honest and the best in Prescott. You will be making a mistake if you go anywhere else.

I went to this Doctor slightly over a year ago. He lied to my face and after three visits tossed me aside only to be services by one of his practitioners. I started to see him using a cane periodically. Now I cannot walk over 10 meters. I am in extreme pain which is something he totally disregarded. I am a retired Air Force Officer and suggest anyone considering him to look elsewhere.

Total lack of professionalism or concern for the patient. Actually you would be ahead of the game by avoiding him. He needs to retire before he hurts others.

burchfield decided i needed impingement surgery was only going to do a authorgram, I insisted on a MRI that showed a tear, he did NOT fix the tear my shoulder and arm are useless ! then wanted to replace my shoulder, think it was his plan from beginning to get two surgery's because I have excellent insurance ! saw others having to have their surgery redone too making second surgery appointments ! run !

This Doctor seems to have all the right credentials. However that is where it ends. I visited him and during three visits he kept changing the diagnosis. Finally he did scope surgery which he repetedly stated would do me no good. No more face to face visits but three visits resulted in seeing his paramedics. I subsequently went to another Orthopedic surgeon who took x-rays and immediately pointed out that I need major knee surgery. It should be noted I had x-rays taken by this Doctor along with an MRI and no such diagnosis. In severe pain for well over a year.

Terrible doctor run away as fast as you can your life or someone you loves life could depend on It!!!!
