Dr. Daniel Dongwhan Lee, MD

Financial red flags: 1. Before meeting me, Dr. Daniel Lee wanted a spine x-ray at the one owned by Desert Orthopedic Center even though I'd just had one elsewhere. 2. Dr. Lee wanted an MRI at the one owned by Desert Orthopedic Center even though I'd just had one elsewhere. Dr. Lee seemed rushed and uninterested in listening. He offered treatment for a problem from 30 years ago that caused no symptoms. He said "I'll set you up for surgery." When I said I wanted to think about it, he said I didn't need to follow up and left the room. Without telling me, he sent 3 prescriptions to my pharmacy. One was a HIGH dose of a medication previously prescribed by my primary doctor. It was stopped after it caused serious side effects at a LOW dose. The 2nd medication was dangerous if taken with a medicine I was on already taking. The 3rd medicine was a controlled substance I didn't need. I agreed with the pharmacy, which canceled all 3 prescriptions.

My first visit with doctor Daniel Lee was today and I'm still in shocked.. never have I ever had a Doctors appointment that I have to ask to actually see the doctor during my appointment.. I saw 3 different ppl.. assistant, nurse practitioner and X-ray technician.. and they were gonna send me home without ever speaking to dr.. then I asked if I could see him, nurse practitioners response "if you want to!?" Well yes.. I made an appointment a month ago.. had to make arrangements and baby sister to be here. And I would like to see the doctor I made appointment with. He comes in. Sits at the chair by the door. Walked in at 2:23pm and leave the room at 2:24pm (1 min visit) whattt is going on.. he didn't even say anything before he walked out.. (any other question?) no hello when he walked in... This was officially the most unprofessional Doctors visit I've ever had.. he ordered MRI for follow up visit, I would definitely not be going back. I contacted desert orthopedics and they recommended… a different doctor..

Dr. Lee quickly diagnosed my issue and worked to resolve it without delay, bringing me out of a painful situation to where I could get back to normal life.

Great surgeon

From 2013 to 2020 I managed to get through pain episodes and an ongoing issues with L4-L5-S1. I followed my primary Dr. recommendation to work through the issues as I could. When my fitness and core strength I had developed came to a crossroads with the Lumbar area not being able to manage to walk without extreme pain and instability of this area, Dr. Lee and his team made it very clear through medical imagery and explanation, it would be a good surgery to have done. 3 weeks post level 2 lumbar fusion surgery, I have no pain, I can walk, I have stability in my back.!!!! And most importantly I feel as if the remainder of my life I can participate in activities without feeling vulnerable to falling down or being in pain to the point were I don't want to play because the sharp pain episodes were very intense. Even though I have a few month's or years of recovery time, Dr. Lee and his team have made this serious life event so much easier for me to do. From the office visit's to… hospital and back home, I felt the professionalism and confidence within his team, and of course this made the decision so much easier for me to move forward with the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Lee to anyone.!!! If you have back issues, visit Dr. Lee and consider him as a very high option for surgery, or get some straight forward answers about your condition and if surgery is needed or what option's you have to make your life pain free and tolerable again. I went to see Dr. Lee in May 2020 and was not able to walk with pain running down my left leg. Dr. Lee diagnosed the pinched nerve between L4 and L5. My overall health was good and he recommended surgery to take out the bone spur that was pinching the nerve. Dr. Lee walked me throught the procedure and his staff helped me with the paperwork and had me view videos of the risks. I had the sugery on 2 Sep 2020 and was walking in the hospital without any pain down my leg only hours after surgey. It has been almost 9 weeks and I am doing as much around the house and yard as I did prior to the bone spur pinching off the nerve. I weighed all the risks of a spinal fusion surgery and would recommend Dr. Lee to anyboby who is in good enough health to have surgery.

Amazing Doctor!!!

I was referred to Dr. Lee by my pain management dr. From my first Visit Dr. Lee was direct, and to the point on my back issues. He was honest and explain what needed to done. Physical therapy, and pain management. When this showed little results, Surgery was needed. Dr. Lee was always professional, Honest, and had compassion for Me, and my back issues. I have been a patient of Dr. Lee for 2 surgery's, and I would highly recommend.

I went to Dr. Lee base on a recommendation from my doctor. Unlike most surgeon surgery was not his first option even thou i have met all the insurance criteria already. As we discuss further my condition we came to the conclusion that surgery was my only option. I knew this fact before i came to see him base on my family doctors opinion. I wanted to know what he would do and say. He made me feel more comfortable and i started to trust him. He was direct and honest with my procedure and chances of recovery, his only guarantee was he would do his very best. Again he did not promise me that procedure will relieve my pain. I am firm believer that doctors can not fix everything but i have more trust in a doctor who is honest about things. So if you want a doctor who his honest and will give you 100% effort than Dr. Lee is the guy you want.
