Dr. Daniel Lewis, MD

I trust my primary care physician to refer me to the best specialists. He hit a home run with this one.

Dr. Lewis performed hand surgery on me to correct a rather messy case of Dupuytrens Contracture in my left hand. I was afraid I'd waited too long, and that the deformity would be permanent. After a couple good discussions as to the pros and cons, we went forward, and he did an excellent repair and cleanup on my hand. It's been 2 months, and though still sore and a bit stiff, the deformity I was concerned about is nonexistent, and the dexterity is returning to levels I haven't had for some time. Dupuytrens can re-occur, as that's its nature, but my expectations of the results of the surgery were definitely exceeded by Dr. Lewis. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering a doctor for general hand care or surgery.

Dr. Lewis and his nurse Dawn are a phenomenal team. Dr. Lewis was able to correct a problem with my hand due to nerve impingements following a bicep tendon injury and two previous surgeries from another surgeon/healthcare provider; something no other doctor in the area was capable of or willing to do. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis, as he is the most competent, professional, and knowledgeable surgeon I have been to. Dr. Lewis gave me my quality of life back and I am forever grateful to him. He truly is my hero.

Dr. Lewis has perfromed this surgery on both of my hands. In each case I was awake for the procedure and used only local anesthetic. The surgery was quick and essentially painless and I have been amazed at how great the incision looks. My incisions both look as if I had a plastic surgeon. Follow his post op advice and look for great outcomes. Great staff at ortho carolina as well.

I first met r. lewis following the fracture of my elbow and ulna. i was so very concerned about having surgery, was this ever going to be right again, etc. he put me completely at ease each and every time i met with him. I very highly recommend him as a hand surgeon.
