Dr. Daniel Gardner Lustig, MD

We seen Dr.Lustig at his Kalispell location. My son was being seen because hes been diagnosed with FTT and an oral aversion. I first met with Lustig and discussed and NJ Tube which we both agreed would not be a food fit for our son as it would make the oral aversion worse.We agreed to have the G-Tube placed.We thought it was a great decision to help our son get the nutrients he so desperately needed.After placement we had continued vomiting.we made changes over the coarse of a month with no progress. We were admitted again,due to vomiting up his feeds.We expressed that we felt it was an allergy to the food and would like to either try kate farms peptide,or elecare.we were told these weren't options and he wanted to place a g/j tube.i was hesitant about being so invasive,because he was exclusively breastfed for 16 months and NEVER had a vomiting issue until we administered this food to him,I knew it had to be an allergy to the food.but he REFUSED to change the food. the next… morning he scheduled surgery for g/j tube.we were told this would STOP the vommitting as were bypassing the stomach and feeding into the intestines.well sure enough we fed the same food into the j tube for 20 hours and had vomiting.he then confronted me very harshly accusing me of doing something to cause the tube to dislodge because I cosleep,i then assure him theres nothing i could have done to harm the tube sight.that again I'm sure it's the food and I'd really like to change foods.he again says no and he is going to check placement of the tube because hes sure its out of place.i agree to this because I know it's not moved.x ray is done and placement is checked,its in fact very much in place.which he was shocked by!which also led him to make more rude statements.so we administer more foods,theres more vomit.he tells us about a med called reglan,which I did my research on,found out it is black labeled by the fda for causing irreversible neurological damage after as little as one dose.i decide against this med.we do a gastric emptying study.which he passes.but we still have vommitting. I'm then confronted by him,and he states that he would like to install a video camera in our hospital room to find the cause of this vommitting,I deny that because I felt like the video might not clearly catch things.and I opted for an in room babysitter! over 20 vommitting episodes were recorded,and I felt relieved there was proof I wasn't doing anything to harm my son. since we now had proof it wasn't me causing his vomiting he finally agreed to let us switch foods,but then again brought up the reglen.which we again said we didn't feel comfortable with.and we weren't sure why it was even being brought up as an option since he passed his emptying study,and if we had to go that route we knew there had to be other options. He said "there was no other option" and that since we are refusing care he is going to discharge us.we then explain to him that were not refusing care,were just not open to giving our son reglan.and maybe we can have a second opinion.he said sure,but your not getting one from me.upon discharge he called CPS on us for medical neglect. This was only a very slimmed down version of our story.in hindsight hes very arrogant,cocky,verbally abusive,rude,will not listen,closed minded.the list goes on..please do yourself a favor and do not let this man be your dr!

I was relieved (unfortunately) to see other people experienced the same toxic man that I did. He comes across as this amazing doctor, the moment you question anything he becomes abusive, literally. Verbally and physically abusive. I tried to report him. He left the facility (fired?) within months of the report. This man is dangerous. He is truly dangerous.

Dr. Lustig took care of my niece a few years ago. He wouldn’t come talk to us he made the nurses do it. Like first of all they have a busy schedule and time they do more then drs do. He wouldn’t listen to any idea . Finally had enough and went to Scared Heart Children’s Hospital. They listened more and did a stomach emptying test which showed she had Gastroparesis. And put her on meds which helped. She has intestinal problems we are waiting to have a test done when she’s at the age she can. I’d go to Providence Sacred Heart Children’s. Lustig is also at Community Medical Center and Kalispell Regional. Don’t see him and don’t see any Dr in Kalispell MT they just want your $$

Dr Lustig was the 4th Peds GI dr to treat our son. 3 other drs were unable to help or diagnose anything with our son that was suffering from chronic issues. Our first appointment with him was a few hours long, we drove 6 hours to see Dr. Lustig. I was happy that he took the time and listened to every word we said, he asked questions and took lots of notes. He was very reassuring, very confident that he would get to the bottom of our problems. Our first Peds GI dr told us to give our son immodium to solve his chronic diarrhea and made no effort to even treat him. Dr Lustig has a sense of humor (which is what a parent needs when we're already stressed and worried about our kids) and he listens to the patient. He acknowledged our son and what he was feeling. I am not sure why he got one star reviews. I would and will gladly drive the 6+ hours to see him if we ever need anything in the future. I will recommend him to anyone that needs a GI specialist. He is what we jokingly called "The… Last Dr" and so far so good. Our son is finally on the mend due to this Dr.

Dr.Lustig and his staff are very wonderful people. They are very kind and caring and have been great with my daughter. They are have been patient with all of my concerns and calls. Dr. Lustig is very knowledgable and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a pediatric GI.

We went today see doctor Lustig, we supose to visit with Doctor Thomas. Dr. Lustig, is very friendly. Our boy 3 months is allergic to cow's milk protein, so he basically repeat what our primary doctor said. Keep milk protein out of my diet The nurse was really nice too. He seemed loved his job. I recommend him.

This doctor is the most arrogant, rude, obnoxious doctor I have ever met. He won't listen to ideas or thoughts being brought to him, nor does he listen. He thinks he knows it all and doesn't give a rats butt about the patient. He basically laughed at anything we had to say and came in with the most arrogant attitude I have ever seen. He is not about the patients, he is about his reputation and ego. What a duce!

Not only is Dr. Lustig amazing, helpful, and kind, so are the nurses, receptionist and basically every person we come into contact with! Nobody makes me feel as if my concerns are not being heard and they all do whatever they can to facilitate a great experience for my child as well as myself. I choose to make the hour long drive rather than go to the Urgent care 5 minutes from my home so that I can be sure that my daughter will be well taken care of by knowledgeable and amazing, caring, patient people!

My son had lost 80 pounds in 5 months with severe stomach pains and constant vomiting. After several visits to the ER and specialists in my home town, no one could diagnose him with anything so they labeled it under the "stress" universal catch all. We went to Mary Bridge hoping for a miracle as my son was dying before my eyes. Dr. Lustig did not stop until he found what was wrong and he did it within 2 weeks! My son is completely cured and has gained 3 pounds. He is on the road to recovery thanks to this Doctor. I can never say enough good things about him and my experience with the whole staff from initial contact, through the surgery, and the discharge. Don't wait to contact him!!

I found Dr. Lustig to be very concerned and knowledgeable, however, I also found him to be very opinionated and closed minded. He was very kind to my daughter. He recommended a colonoscopy for her. When we returned home, my daughter, who is 12, voiced her concern and desire to have a female doctor do the procedure. I understood her anxiety and called the clinic to see what could be done. Within minutes Dr. Lustig returned my call and told me that although they do have a female doctor in their clinic, my request for a female doctor was "not an option". He continued on by telling me that it was "silly" and "ridiculous" for my daughter to feel the way she did. I assured him that respecting the wishes of our children when they have concerns, if we can, is in no way ridiculous or silly. At that point, he wished me good luck and hung up on me. Furthermore, if you are an individual that appreciates and considers the advice or help of chiropractors or naturopaths Dr. Lustig is NOT… the doctor for you. He wasted no time shooting them down point blank during our appointment with him. I was willing to cut him some slack, because, in all honesty he was very kind to my daughter, and he seemed very knowledgeable. However, after my conversation with him this morning I will not return to him and I would not recommend him. I felt as though I was being bullied.
