Dr. Daniel Payne Robertson, MD

Dr. Robertson performed a cervical spine disc fusion on me. I went into the hospital 1 day, the procedure was done that day and I went home the next morning. I had no pain or problems afterwards. It went so well that when I needed it done again some years later, I went to Dr. Robertson again, with the same good results. And I don't live in Ocala; I live about an hour away so it was not a matter of convenience.

Laminectomy was to be a accomplished by a small slit in both front and back. What I ended up with is no work on front, about an 8" thick scan on my spine and the top of my spine has a round small knot. But the very worst part is that instead of straightening my head, it now is a "chin on chest" posture. This prevents driving my car, socializing and more. I was still left with pain spasms on the right side of my neck. Post-surgery, he turned over treatment to a person who sold and tried to fit a brace to hold my head up. I had three braces and none worked properly. I never saw Dr. Robertson after the surgery. If there was a rating for no stars, I would have selected that since he basically ruined some of my life. Bitter? Who me?

Extremely prompt and thorough.

I was first seen by Dr. Robertson on late 2001. This doctor couldn't be a more competent doctor. He is a very compassionate and treated me very well. He removed and replaced C 6 & 7 discs in my neck, as well as decompression surgery for Arnold Chiari Malformation. While I am sorry he moved out of the Fort Myers area, I know Ocala gained.a most competent neurosurgeon.

Dr. Robertson is an excellent doctor who discusses your options fully. His attention is on his patient.

Good skills, bedside manner needs work. Did not review my history on follow up appts and I suspect he did not correctly diagnose my issue because on a followup appt he was surprised to find another issue in my MRI that should have been seen the first time, therefore wanting to do more surgery. The original surgery did not correct my problem, it only made it worse.

Front desk is not always as inviting as the backroom staff.

Reputation for excellent surgeon. Staff is difficult to evaluate. Sometimes they respond and sometimes they forget to do this or that, like setting up appointments for labs, x-rays, etc. After surgery it is difficult to talk to him. Everything is deferred to his assistant, and in our case we have had an easier time contacting the person in charge of re-fills, who then relays to physician's assistant, who then coordinates with doctor. We haven't heard back from doctor, via phone, once. Two and a half months after surgery we still don't know why patient continues to experience severe pain.

I have seen Dr Robertson for the past 3 years and he has performed a lower back laminectomy and removal of the hardware surgery. He is currently treating me for nerve issues in my neck, which may result in additional surgery. The quality of the care I have received from him and his entire staff surpasses that of any other physician that I have been to. My lower back is now 100% and I have and will continue to recommend him to everyone I know who develops spinal issues. Thank you Dr Robertson, you have given me back the gift of good health!

Dr. Robertson is an excellent surgeon and can diagnose your problem first visit. He is very direct but I understand as he is a very busy Doctor. His Staff are excellent and take of everything beautifully. I have definitely recommend he and his staff to everyone I know
