Dr. Daniel Richard Szekely, MD

As a young female seeing a male Doctor for the first time was scary, but Dr. Szekely made me feel very comfortable and safe. He takes plenty of time to answer your questions and genuinely cares about your health. I got a new job and my insurance is changing, I'm very sad that this office does not take United Healthare, I can't imagine not seeing Dr. Szekely anymore!

Dr. Szekely is a wonderful doctor who cares about his patients. We received wonderful care and advice from him. He is especially adept at making the patient feel comfortable and ready for labor. He is top notch.

I had a few negative feelings about this doc during my pregnancy, but didn't switch because the location was very convenient. However, after my last prenatal exam, postpartum exam, and accessing my medical records it became very clear that he is not a good practitioner. I was told at my last appointment, when I was already 11 days overdue, that my babe was in "perfect" position and I was 2cms dialated. When I got my medical records mths later, I discovered he had written that baby was posterior/transverse (not perfect by any means) and I was only near 1 cm. The info he gave me was extremely misleading and caused me to end up at the hospital way too early (2cms) but having to stay because my water was broken. Delivery was emergency c-sect. at 9 cms due to distress because baby was so late and never able to move. This doc was on duty in the hospital the day after I delivered and didn't come to check on me. He taunted me at the postpartum exam by insinuating that if I had been a more… "active laborer" perhaps the baby would've moved. I received no screening for PPD. He gave no instructions on scar care, and more than 18mths later, I still have a terrible red, raised and sometimes painful scar. On top of that, he recorded in my records that the baby was female even though the u.s. stated otherwise, and I corrected him on numerous occasions. Do not use this doctor.
