Dr. Daniel J. Terpstra, DO

Terrible experience. Saw this doctor originally in 2020. Got an MRI. Later read the report which listed "arthritis, bursitis, rips and tears from a prior injury, and a lipoma". I had explained to the doctor at the time that I hyperextended my left arm and felt it tear three times in 4 days in 2019. When I saw him in 2020 he told me the MRI was "fine" but I later read report it indicated all I listed above plus a lipoma that the radiologist recommended I have the MRI redone with and without contrast. Fast forward to June, 2023, I see him again because the arm is still painful and does not function properly. He had no record of my two prior visits to him and the MRI of 2020. I have no confidence in a doctor that loses all these records and makes no effort to find them. He was somewhat dismissive and his notes were wrong regarding level of pain which was high and he notated that I had none. He also notated I have full range of motion which I do not. I cannot lift the arm normally nor… use it normally. It is still a problem and I've just learned to live with it.

I went to see this doctor today and was asked what my issue was by the assistant then told the first step was to have an x-ray before the doctor would see me. I’m a registered nurse. I’ve never known a doctor to do a procedure on a patient before assessing the patient. I didn’t have an acute injury that would warrant an x-ray. I left the office without ever seeing the doctor. I’m smart enough to not agree to procedures before being evaluated. Very poor practice for a physician in my opinion. I will be going elsewhere for the care of my shoulder.

Dr. Terpstra has treated both my daughter and myself and the care has been outstanding. The doctor has taken the time and made the effort to explain the procedures and expectation both before and after surgery. His positive attitude and willingness to discuss options made both my daughter's and my surgery as well as our recoveries much easier than expected. A true professional who cares.

I had total knee surgery 4 yrs ago was feeling discomfort in the right knee ,x rays were taken showing no change in the replacement I was relieved some Therapy was deemed to be all that was needed

Having read through some of the silly comments I wanted to share my experience, as I had both knees replaced by Dr. Terpstra. He is young, strong, confident and he cares. After rehab I was doing things I had only imagined but without the pain. He took away all my pain and now I am practicing martial arts at a very high level, all thanks to him. Great doctor. Enough said.

Very personal and explained everything that could possibly be the problem. I would recommend anyone seeing Dr. Terpstra.

Dr. Terpstra was the perfect Doctor for me. I tore my ACL and he took the time to fully describe what was going on around my knee. I fully understood all otions before moving forward with treatment. I found him to be courteous and professional.
