Dr. Daniel Gerard Tynan, MD

Dr. Tynan did an amazing job on my spinal surgery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing ACDF Surgery.

I first read these reviews & wondered how it would be for my visit. They are very straight forward & very busy so I do understand if they appear kind of rude. Once I got to know them I really liked them. I was having so much pain before my surgery & now it's very minimal . It doesn't matter to me if they are abrupt... Just getting relief makes me feel that Dr Tynan is an awesome neuro. I think he's a genius !!!

Dr. Tynan was rude and arrogant and had no concern for the patient. He was concerned about how much it would cost to correct the problem he was experiencing and whether or not the insurance would pay for it. He raised his voice to us and refused to answer our questions. When he decided he had heard enough he said "this is just not going to work" and walked out of the examination room. My son has been treated by many doctors, and has never received such treatment by a professional medical person. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Nothing more needs to be said except he is 100% the worst doctor in the state of SD. Worthless excuse of a doctor. If I could go lower than 1 star I would.

At first he seemed very personal and polite. then when i had some other procedures leading up to my surgery he seemed upset and even demeaning to me his patient! It was as if he was "put out" by me not fitting into his timetable. I have had chronic problems post surgery now for years and his only explination is that it is not as bad as it was originally! His PA is terrible, again very polite at first but very snobbish when asked for something, good luck getting a return call within a couple business days as well. I had high hopes that this Doc and his staff could help me but now i am stuck trying to figure out how to either live with my pain or try to trust this doc again with my health and safety and have another surgery. by comparison to others in his office as far as i can tell he ranks the highest but what does that say about the staff itself at Avera?

Had 2 surgeries performed by him and he damaged a nerve the last time. Is not at all caring.
