Dr. Danielle Galante, PhD

I saw Danielle for over a year. While I was with her I made little improvement with my eating disorder or with processing some major traumas. I felt like she was an ok listener but didn’t give me any tools to process what I had been through or to recover. When I eventually switched to another provider, I realized everything that had been missing with Danielle, and made significant improvements in a short period of time. Danielle never once suggested EMDR or did any formal trauma work with me. Danielle seems about keeping people where they are at rather than working with them to get better and move on.

Dr. Galante is unfocused and has poor judgement. Her approach is erratic and she doesn't not rely on any specific techniques like DBT, CBT, mindfulness etc to address behavioral problems. She over-discloses about herself and other patients. Strongly do not recommend.

I worked with her close to 10 years ago. I really appreciate how she is more out of the box than most ED psychologists and she sticks up for her patients. Definitely did process some deep emotions. It didn't help me recover behaviorally but I know other clients of hers who did recover.

I would not visit this therapist. She talks and tries to prolong actual treatment to charge more.
