Dr. Daphne Amanda Scott, MD

For 10 years, I've had shoulder impingement, and have seen physical therapists, chiropractics, sports physiologists, Feldenkrais teachers, and more. Nothing helped. So I saw Dr. Scott thinking I might finally need surgery, and she asked a bunch of questions and had me move my arm in different directions. She suspected a calcium growth on the tendon, and that's exactly what an x-ray revealed. Removing it would be easy via syringe, but no one could see me for two weeks. I don't know Dr. Scott's assistant's name, but she was very kind and tried hard to find an open slot at numerous hospitals, to no avail. Dr. Scott then called a doctor friend in the building, and even though he wasn't seeing patients that day, he agreed to do the procedure. She walked me down there herself and ten minutes later the calcium was gone. This was a month ago, and my shoulder is 100% back to normal — I can't believe I spent 10 years with pain. I wish I had seen Dr. Scott long ago. What a wonderful doctor.

I have lived and had the privilege of excellent medical care on three continents. Relative to that experience, Dr. Scott is both a world-class physician and one of the most charming women I've met. She listens, and she knows. With thoughtful consideration she quickly gave me her diagnosis of the ache in my shoulder, and arranged for specialist treatment within 48 hours. I am on my path to recovery with refreshing confidence!

Dr. Scott treated my arthritic shoulder. She listened carefully, both to learn my history and to understand what I wanted to accomplish. She suggested approaches to reduce my pain, explained their plusses and minuses and, together, we worked out an approach that is working well for me. I am very satisfied.

While Dr. Scott appears to be caring, she lacks the ability to focus on a sound diagnosis and actionable solution to common injuries as well as more complicated issues. She gave up immediately on me, did not follow through on proper diagnostic testing, punted me to PT but without proper instructions for the PT. On a return visit, she could not recall her own diagnostic approach (no images) or her proposed PT. Did not appear to listen. After a referral to another doctor for an injection, she seemed put off that he had actually listened to me, proposed an alternate diagnosis, and solved part of my problem. Go to someone with more interest and energy who will actually try hard to help you.

I’ve been to Dr. Scott a number of times —this morning was the 7th - over the past couple of years for help with my creaky old knees. She is competent and unfailingly courteous. I highly recommend her

My introduction to Dr. Scott was the best thing to come from a night of over-doing it on the dance floor. Dr Scott saw me immediately, diagnosed my hip injury, and helped get me back to my (over!) active life quickly and enduringly. Dr Scott is absolutely delightful, and the HSS facility in Stamford is beautiful AND convenient. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
