Dr. Dara Nkenge Pumphrey, MD

I would give zero stars if possible. She treated me for an incorrect diagnosis. the treatment she prescribed me never worked I just got better over time as expected. Had brain damage from the drugs she had me on. My quality of life went downhill each year I was under her medical care. In my opinion she is incompetent & shouldn't have a license

her medical care, medication & diagnosis skills, and follow up is way below average. She did me way more harm than good.

I first became a pt. of Dr. Pumphrey's 4 years ago while attending an outpatient program for anxiety/insomnia. Not only did she work with me and saved my life but, she has some of the most caring and compassionate skills I have ever seen in any mental health worker or Doctor. She listened and worked with me. Together we found the right medicine to help me and still continues to help me function and be my best self today. I am proud to call her my doctor and would recommend her to anyone.

I first met Dr. Pumphrey-Ruiz when I attended a 3 week outpatient anxiety program. My anxiety was at it's height. When I met with her, her demeanor made me so comfortable, which meant the world to me. She reviewed my medication and medical history, made adjustments to prescription and was an intergral part of the time that helped me to manage my anxiety. After I completed the program, I asked to stay on as her patient and have seen her one time every 3-6 months ever since. She always asks life style questions, such as work, exercise, and sleep at my apppointments, she supports the whole person and does not look at prescriptions as the end all to managing anxiety. I appreciate her.

Spent quality time with me going over my diagnosis. Went over my medical records in detail. Explained in detail my diagnosis and medications used to treat. Very knowledgeable in her field! I switched from my previous psychiatrist of 15 years to Dr. Pumphrey.

Her imitation of compassion is almost believable.
