In addition to being refused pain meds and again refused the day after surgery, I never went back to have the same RF procedure done on my other leg as I felt insulted and humiliated for asking for just a couple days of pain meds. My need for this procedure is life threatening but I didn't want to be treated that way again. Thanks Dr K for making me feel unwelcome and unecessarylily in pain. My life is still at risk.

After Having RF procedure (microwave cooked a vein from my ankle to my groin) I was refused pain meds and told ibuprofen was all I would need. Up most of night in pain. Next morning I called to beg for pain meds. I was refused again and told to drive myself in so Dr Kowalski could determine why I was in pain. I drove across town in a stick shift truck. Saw doctor and again refused pain meds. My post op instructions were to avoid any exercise and keep my leg elevated. I felt insulted and humiliated by nursing staff for even asking for just a couple days of pain meds. The head nurse told me I was expected to tolerate a certain level of pain. I asked her why. She gave me no answer. If you like surgery without pain meds, BMC is the right place for you. I have no history of substance abuse. I had never in my life been refused pain meds before as I never ask for them unless I really need them.
