Dr. Darrin Lee Bright, MD

What an arrogant group to deal with. I just moved here to the area. I needed a general practitioner and he was referred. I call and the person who answered couldn't care less about me or my situation. It was like I should beg for this doctor to allow me to give him my money and maybe down the road he would accept me as a new patient. I'll be happy to give these reviews as often as possible.

Dr. Darrin Bright has been my physician for five years after a former coworker’s referral. I have seen him for annual physicals, problem visits, sports medicine concerns. Two years after becoming a patient of his, I decided to seek out another general practitioner. I was exceedingly happy with my new GP. When she moved to a new state to be closer to family, I decided to go back to Dr. Bright since he was the only person that had previous medical records, despite being less than impressed with his acumen and overall execution of his job. Recently, I returned for an annual physical. In the past, Dr. Bright listened well enough to general, temporal concerns. However, I had some real concerns this past physical and when he asked me at a auctioneer-speed if I had any shortness of breath, dizziness, etc. (I honestly don’t know what because he said it all so fast I didn’t have time to process it), I said “No” because I sensed he didn’t think I did by looking at me that I could have any… problems. He asked but didn’t seem like he cared either way. I did interject that I do have some shortness of breath and dizziness as he was mid-effort to scoot past them. He listened to my heart briefly and sent me on my way, telling me my lungs were fine. I got a second opinion and bloodwork. The second opinion picked out right away that I have mitral valve prolapse, common and often presents without problems but can be a potentially life-threatening condition causing my shortness of breath. She determined this by simply listening to my heart as Dr. Bright had done a week before and was very surprised I had not been told I had it. “It’s quite prominent”. She even had her resident listen to me as a case study for what it sounds like because “it was classic”, as she put it. I’m not saying Dr. Bright is a bad doc but I do not find him to be a good one after five years of trying to convince myself he must be due to a referral. His office also has lost my lab work twice and made excuses each time. As a final note, I have also since seen an endocrinologist who has stated I have overlooked vitamin deficiencies my doctor should have caught based on symptom presentations alone.

Waited two months for an appointment. Showed up half hour early for appointment at 7:45 AM. Filled out all the paperwork. The front desk clerk then comes out and tells me they do not accept my insurance. I gave them the insurance information when I made the appointment two months ago.

He was just rated the top sports medicine doctor in central ohio. Great doc. I've been going to him for years
