Dr. David William Amory, MD

I had a seizure and fell down breaking my shoulder in 2 places, knee & back also very much had a number done on them. Not doctor Amory faul. What was in my humble opinions his patient care practice was horrible. I've read some of these reviews and am always skeptical it's arrival doctor or annex wife, maybe a spoiled kid who didn't get that fancy whatever... I am not a smart person, but should this Doctor just retire? The NP on morning of consult had to inform him twice that the head also showed that the break / dislocation happened from me falling a certain way which caused the break (eg impact was on a specific and different X, Y and Z axis than Doctor Amory was verbalizing to me explaining why surgery was imperitive quickly) Not only did he not take the advice from me as I told him I impacted dresser and floor on a specific way, he wouldn't admit he was wrong and was as condescending as he said how could you remember which way you fell , when you had a seizure??? Needless to say… that was the last time I saw him as my doctor. The injury did require surgery and I am almost all healed 7 months later. Can only imagine prognosis going under knife with him at helm. Exhemmm... Paging Dr. A, your tee time is ready (wink wink)

Dr Amory is terrible, doesn’t pay attention to detail or spend any time examining your condition. He’s very quick to suggest surgery without taking a thorough approach and actually putting any care into the work he does. I’m suffering years later from a poor ankle surgery he performed. Poor bedside manners, impatient and clearly doesn’t care about the work he does.

Bad experience, not thorough or detailed in explaining procedures. Doesn’t care or have concern about the patients best interest. All he cares about is making money

Dr David Amory of Orthopaedic Specialists of North County may be a good surgeon, I'm not sure yet because I haven't completely healed. What I do know is that he is rude, condescending and has terrible bedside manner. I had a left knee arthroscopic procedure and when I woke up he had already left the Carlsbad Surgery Center. None of the nurses knew if my surgery was a success or not. There were no notes, and he did not tell anyone the outcome for them to share it with me. I went home and the next day I called and was told by his assistant that I will find out about my surgery at my two week check up. I was out raged! He actually wanted me to wait two weeks to find out? I left my name and number and asked that he would call me. He did not call me that day and so I called the office again the following day and left another message. Late that second day he phoned me with an attitude. When I asked him why he didn't contact me he said that he talked to me about the surgery in the operating… room and didn't I remember it? I told him no that I didn't remember anything and he laughed saying it was too bad, most patients don't remember after anesthesia. Really?!? He asked me if I received the pictures of my procedure and I said yes. Then he said, well didn't you look at them and see what I did? I was shocked because I can't tell what those pictures show. He chuckled condescendingly and launched into an explanation. What a jerk! I won't go to him again.

Knee revision 3 weeks later staph infection back to hospital for another week. Went home 3 weeks later back in hospital with another infection 5 days later back home on iv antibiotics. Knee is worse lower leg on fire. Told him we need to figure out what's wrong if not cut it off. I can't go anywhere. Two weeks later he said good news no infection. He handed me a card for a pain clinic. I told him I've been going there 5 years. He said there was no need to schedule another appointment. Knee is still worse I will never go back there again. 1st stop competent doctor. Next stop my attorney in San Diego.

After 5 years of pain I am finally getting my knees re-done! Have been to 5 Dr's in San Diego, all amazed at his workmanship! Didn't remove enough bone from my left knee 90 degrees of flexation, Right knee put in crooked what is the worst is that he knew he did a crap job and kept deceiving me. 5 years he took from me, beware all out there!

Where to begin, Didn't remove enough bone from the back of my knees so only have about 20% of range of motion. R. knee implant was put in crooked and not enough bone removed from back of knee. 7 years of pain and pill taking! I'm so screwed up that 6 specialist in San Diego will not work on them! 7 years of not being able to exercise and getting fat! Thanks Dr. Amory! I hope you get what you deserve!
