Dr. David Erin Burns, MD

One of the best in Houston! His office on the other hand is lacking. I have done a records request from my VA doctor in California in 2017 and they never sent the records. Last spring I called and they said they would put my name down on a list to retrieve my files never heard back from them. I had 2 surgeries and went in to inquire about this issue. I filled out another records request. About a month or so later I called they had no form, I was not given a copy either, or anything as to my request. Very fustrated by now. For 9 nonths I have been trying to get cpoies of my medical records that by LAW they have to release to me.I called and let them know about this issue and was frank with then. I got some story of how they fired staff and are short handed. So I went back up to the office and filled out another form, got a copy too. Was given the song and dance that they are short handed and they will call me when the records are ready. It is not a month later and still no records.… Very unprofessional behavior.

Dr Burns takes the time to listen and thoroughly explains treatment. He is very intelligent, kind and patient. His office staff is also very friendly.

This doctor is amazing. He found out exactly what all is wrong with me, when doctor after doctor could not. He’s a great listener, thorough, knowledgeable, and empathetic. If you have given up or are about to, go to this doctor. He found out I had an autoimmune disease, and has even helped me with other health issues that are outside of his field as well. He’s very gifted in that respect. Most doctors only know their own field, but he’s different. Also, his nurse/front desk staff is so helpful, sweet, and cheerful. When you’re chronically ill, the last thing you want to deal with is rude or unhelpful staff. They are anything but! They always call you back and get you what you need promptly. Even his lab tech who takes your blood is such a sweet lady! So don’t lose hope if you’re very ill. Go see this doctor.

Dr. Burns takes the time to explain test results, medication pros and cons and anything you ask him about. He has helped me learn about and deal with my autoimmune diseases over the past several years.

Incredibly smart, Patient, Kind, Listens Well. Saw 2 other doctors who could not figure out what was going on with me. Dr. Burns kept at it until we figured out what was wrong with me.

Autoinmune diseases are difficult to manage , they change a lot, they come and go. Through continuous check ups with dr burns and his advice I am living a normal life and had my second child. If I never met him I might not have my little girl. He gave me the confidence to learn to read my self and take actions as required . One size doesn't fit all, every day is different.

Dr. Burns genuinely cares and wants to diagnose and treat your medical problems. For me he has diagnosed multiple ailments that other doctors overlooked or did not feel the need to order proper lab work to diagnose. He spends proper time and listens to you. He is not condescending. And your appointments do not feel rushed. His Office Staff are very friendly and help you in any way they can. If they order a test and something is concerning you are contacted quickly and notified. If I could give him more stars I would but I'm limited to 5..!!

Dr Burns spent a lot of time listening to my symptoms, asking further questions, and taking copious notes. I felt he was totally engaged in trying to figure out my ailments and coming up with a protocol to treat it. I would highly recommend him to anyone with autoimmune difficulties.
