This "Doctor" fused my back at L5-S1 in 2006 - The surgery was an unmitigated failure!! The pain that precipitate the surgery was worse after the surgery. No follow up after surgery even though I continued to be in severe pain. I found out recently, based on an MRI that was done because I now need additional fusions at adjacent levels ( called adjacent disk disease) that one of the screws that "doctor" Cohen placed is incorrect and is impeding on the nerve root at L5. Don't do it - if you need surgery, first think twice about it as the outcome is not guaranteed, and then run away from "doctor" Cohen as fast as you can. Seek advise from Rehab professionals and others in the field of non-surgical approaches.

This man saved my dad's life and restored the quality of mine. He performed emergency brain surgery on my father, and a microdiscectomy to my lower back, and we are both blessed to have been in such expert hands. He is a hero in the eyes of my family.

Had surgery on my spine. He explained everything very clearly. Visited on morning of surgery. Always smiling. After surgery came to visit and came the next day to release from hospital. All good with surgery and very happy with his expertise and his bedside manner.

Dr. Cohen was awesome. Professional and Efficient. He listens to you and answers your questions. explained in detail what exactly he was going to do to me. Always a smile on his face. He saw me before and after my surgery and answered my concerns, gave me papers for work, and Listened to my needs for pain care. I wanted no narcotics and he gave me the meds I did request. All I know is After 4 months of misery and pain his magic hands fixed me. I am pain free. Don't hesitate to consider him if you need a highly competent neurosurgeon. I am very grateful to have had him as my Doctor/surgeon.

I had a back laminectomy on Sept. 12, 2017. On Sept. 16 while sitting in a chair I coughed and my whole shirt back, pants became wet and I had a bad headache. I believed I had a spinal leak. I went to the emergency room. The doctor in the emergency room did no test an informed me that Dr. Cohen said, " there were no problems during surgery and it was serious fluid and I had a migraine." There was a lot of fluid leaking from me. I could not sit or stand for more than five minutes without getting an extreme headache. They told me to come to the office. I didn't think I could make it. When I got there I just went to the emergency room, because I thought my head was going to explode. Waited three hours before being seen. I asked the emergency room Dr. to please not send me home before they checked for spinal fluid. Had a positive result. They took my staples out to get an MRI. They thought I would be kept, but Dr. Cohen again said send me home. They put the staples back in and sent me… home. I went back to the emergency room on Sept. 19th, by now I am convinced he was going to let me die and I told them that. On Sept. 20 I had another surgery to stop the leak. He had a total disregard for me. I have heard other horror stories about him. It is not just his personality to ignore people. It is practice. I believe he lacks the skill to preform surgery on people.

He did not listen, he walked out of room while I was asking questions. He said yeah the syrinx in my neck could cause a lot of problems, and then he left, and closed the door. Staff sucks too, not very professional.

He came in the room. Was in there maybe 5 min. Not personable at all. Doesnt look at you when speaking. Paid $50 co pay to hear what he had to say. Which was "you dont need surgery". No diagnosis at all. As i was asking questions he was trying to leave the room as I was still talking to him. Waste of time and I will never be back again.

waited in waiting room almost an hour before taken to examination room nurse/practitioner then screened me before doctor came in to see me doctor entered with his diagnosis as I was asking him questions concerning his diagnosis, he was opening the door to leave as he answered my questions

I would never recommend him. He operated and caused permenant vocal chord damage which has completely and adversely affected my life. I was not warned of such potential harm and though I understand that accidents do happen his response was "that's too bad" further, he doesn't look you in the eye when he talks.
